So I'm not into decorating. I HAD a friend who volunteered to decorate for me then quit! I have been spending more time & money focusing on the decorations than I care to admit. I wish I had hired s/o just to avoid 3 days before my wedding & I'm ordering white pearl string b/c I ran out...ugh. If you have the eye & ability to guesstimate how much you need to put it all together go for it! Good luck

We hired a decorator and it was one of the best $ spent. She did an awesome job. I told her my vision was clean lines and no tall centerpieces...she delivered. And even better she returned at the end of the reception and packed her decorations...I call it rental decorations. She made me and my moh bouquets and the groom and best man lapel thingy(her gift to us). I paid $600 for her services and it was the money I saved from diying my invites. Win-win for me.

Hi Tiarra! Welcome to the WeddingWire Community! Smiley ring The decision to hire a decorator is certainly a good idea, but it's definitely not a necessity. A lot of couples alternatively engage in DIY decorations. The decision boils down to what works for your budget and how much time you can distribute towards the task. Since you have plans to rent decor, I think the following WeddingWire article will give you additional guidance on where to get items:

    Good luck!

It depends if you can afford it! I got some quotes for what I wanted if I hired one (extra lighting & draping) and it was around $3,000 at least. I just didn't think it was worth it. We are buying our own decor and having our coordinator set it up, other than flowers.

I hired someone. I don’t know anything about decorating for weddings or have a creative bone in my body. And honestly it’s less stressful. I hired a MOC (month of coordinator) with an all inclusive package. Best money I’ve spent thus far.
