Pros & Cons of having Ceremony & Reception at a Hotel

We aren't but I have been to some. Its nice that they are usually very inclusive and you don't have to worry about transportation for you or your guests. For pictures, you can risk guests catching a peek of you before the wedding or trying to edge in on pics (if you are doing any before the ceremony) and they usually have a pretty early cut off time since they have to keep noise down for the other guests staying at the hotel. Its really only a big deal if you have a party hardy crowd though.

We are having one. I love my ballroom. I love that I dont have to worry about anyone drinking and driving from reception to hotel. There is also extra rooms across the street at another hotel. My ballroom will have our ceremony and then flip to our reception. There also a separate area that will be used for cocktail hour.

I worked at a hotel that hosted plenty of weddings and all I’m going to say is be nice to the staff! Lol

Our reception is at a hotel. It's nice because a LOT of stuff is covered in the package (catering, cake, flowers, open bar etc) and it's reasonably priced!

Can be pricier but honestly depends on the place and what type of menu/amount of people you have. We ended up choosing a hotel because we loved the location and it’ll be so convenient for getting ready. For out of town guests it’s convenient too because everything is in one place. Don’t let what I said about the price drive you away from it, that’s just what I noticed in my area so it might be different for you!
