Pros and cons of airbrushed makeup...

Melissa, on February 11, 2010 at 2:44 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

I have never had (professionaly done) airbrushed makeup and wonder, are there any bad things about it, like it cracking or starting to look bad later in the day? I have used the kind you buy in a can, is it basically the same thing? How is it applied?

I really need full coverage cause I have awful skin that gets red a blotchy, especially when im nervous!

I broke down and spent the extra money on the airbrush make up. I personally thought it was money well spent. I have fair skin that has some darker spots from the sun (not freckles although I have those too) on my forehead and above my upper lip. The airbrush makeup is GREAT for coverage but I also didn't look like I had tons of make up caked on. I did notice that it had a sheen to it that made me feel slightly shiny, but a dab of loose powder nipped that in the bud. It lasted all night and I really liked it!

Have some one spray you in the tub so it doesnt get the mist died to everything if applied evenly sprays youll be fine you need to do it the day before some of them and cant shower for 8 hours after so make sure you have time to do it its a healthy tan and doesnt smudge once completly dry

Were you asking about airbrush tan or airbrush facial makeup? The comment I left above was for airbrush facial makeup...

I have not personally had it but in aesthetics school we had a Hollywood pro come in and demo various types. The girl that got the airbrush looked perfect, she had fair smooth skin and tended to get slightly pink when she blushed. I asked if that would work on me, my skin tends to always be red and I have acne scars. She said that a full coverage foundation would be better. She applied it and it did look great but by the end of the day it was looking a little cakey and had settled in my fine lines. Smashbox makes a green primer that I find really helps under mineral foundation. You could always get a consultation and maybe try it out.

The aesthetician (spelled?) that does my waxing also does facials and make up. I talked to her and she came out to where we were all getting ready and did the make up for me. So I didn't actually order any of the make up, she brought her equipment and the make up she used.

I had my makaeup airbrushed for my moms wedding. they dont do your eyes... or at least mine didnt. i dont know that i felt that it was that amazing over what it would have looked like. if you have the money to spend on it, i would do it... but always do a trial to see how you feel, and take pictures that way you know how it will photograph.

good luck...i still havent decided what i am going to do for mine...

My sister and mom had their makeup airbrushed on at my sister's wedding.. and they both looked fabulous. The girl told me that it wasn't worth doing for my skin so she did regular coverup and I loved that too. I think that airbrush is decision based on your skin and if you are having someone do it that knows what they're doing. See if they have free or cheap trials at a salon near you. I am planning on going with reg makeup bc I had it at my sister's and it stayed all night but its also bc I'm going to a different place
