When we dated in high school we weren’t super serious. (Or so I thought) I told him when I was 15 that one day I wanted to get proposed to in a sunflower field with the sun shining down on us and the sunflowers surrounding us. Fast forward, i COMPLETELY forgot about this. My besfriends and I & my FH went to a sunflower festival and we took some great pictures for my friends portfolio. (We were the main characters for this shoot, go figure) we waiting in line for about 45 minutes just to get a shot in front of this love sign made out of hay, tires & wood. The sun was beating down on us, it was hot, we were all irritable and I was ready to leave. My FH insisted we get this shot so eventually I said okay. Our turn comes up and we take a few pictures. I turned to my FH and he says “remember when you were 15 an-“ that was all I needed to hear and it all came rushing back to me. This picture shows that exact moment.

We were together for 11 yrs before we broke up & I moved away. Towards the end of that part of our relationship we weren’t good for each other. We were apart for 6 years & obviously we dated other people but I (he did as well) always compared them to him. I came back into town for my grandmother’s 100 birthday party. I’m a recovering alcoholic & he stuck with me when I sobered up but I never made my amends to him. I reached out to him to meet for dinner so I can make my amends. When he walked through the door, I knew at that moment that we were meant to be together &, thank God, so did he! After a year we started talking about marriage. Around my birthday, we went ring shopping & found a ring we both loved. I never knew when or where he was going to propose. It was at a family reunion & we were at the Grand Canyon, finishing up the day. There’s a train station (he loves trains) but by the time we got there, I was hot & tired & wanted to leave. He kept saying “no, just one more stop so we can get pictures.” I was so surprised! His whole family was there!

Our country was in full lockdown at the time my now-fiance proposed - he picked up the ring the friday before the lockdown came into effect, and so we couldn't do what he originally planned.

Instead, he suggested I do a zoom pilates class, during which time he snuck out and collected flowers from my friend who is a florist and called my parents to tell them he planned to do the deed at some point over that weekend. He hid the bouquet in the laundry, made me my favourite breakfast and then took me to collect take away coffee (I LOVE coffee so he had to include it somehow).

When we got home, he set up a laptop our balcony in the sun to watch a live stream of the zoo. (I'd really missed going to the zoo with lockdown restrictions in place). Then, over coffee and while we watched the giraffe feeding, he went and got the bouquet, laid it in my lap and told me he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. It was VERY romantic and private, and he spent so much time trying to make it as special as possible with all the restrictions that were in place.

Saying yes was just like everything else in our relationship - super easy and natural. He didn't even bring out the ring until after I'd said yes!

These stories are very beautiful . We had looked at rings and I knew he was going to propose but he took me to a place that was special to him and proposed. It was out in nature so it was very nice

COVID tried very hard to ruin my FH’s proposal plans. In fact, he had two completely different plans that BOTH ended up getting foiled because of lockdowns and travel restrictions. His plans were delayed for almost a year and a half! It finally happened one quiet morning, when we were sitting together and just enjoying being with one another. He took my hands in his, got down on one knee, and said, “I just can’t wait one second longer; will you please marry me?” When I say I bawled for a solid 5 (!!!) minutes before I realized I hadn’t answered him, I’m not exaggerating! I finally quickly sobbed out my “YES!” but it was another five minutes before my eyes weren’t bleary and could actually see the ring, haha! We spent the day only the two of us knowing we were now engaged, before surprising my parents at dinner that night with the news. It was so exciting and romantic to spend the day together, only the two of us knowing and enjoying our newly engaged status together.

I love how so many stories include being grouchy/uncomfortable/ready to go, etc. LOL I had the same experience 🤦🏼‍♀️ There is a Christmas festival in Chicago that I love and hadn’t been to in years, so FH arranged for us to go. He knows I am in love with the Chicago skyline seen from Navy Pier, so he made sure to park there and Uber to our destinations. We ate a delicious meal and watched the sun set over the lake from our table. Then we went to the festival, had warm spiced wine and bought fun little Christmas items (that I am so glad we bought, because now I have cute little keepsakes from that night). By this time the sun had been down for quite some time and if you’re familiar with Chicago, it gets rather cold in the Winter! We Uber’er back to Navy Pier where our car was, but for some reason FH didn’t want to leave yet. So we walked around, looked at the art installations, checked out the shops, etc. By this time I was tired and just ready to go, but FH was insistent on riding the Ferris wheel. We were standing outside waiting in the cold, and I was getting grouchy wanting to go home, but trying to hide it and be a good sport. Rather than torture me waiting to propose on the Ferris wheel, he just did it right there on the pier with my favorite skyline lit up behind us! It was beyond perfect (and a complete surprise!) In hindsight, me being cold, tired and ready to go actually worked in his favor, because if I hadn’t been distracted I would have 100% noticed that he was nervous and acting strange!

He planned a trip to Miami for our anniversary and my birthday (they are 3 days apart). We went to a nice steakhouse on our anniversary night where we planned to exchange gifts. When it was his turn to exchange he pulled the ring out of his pocket and got down on one knee in front of the whole restaurant. It was amazing and so thought out. Of course I said yes, and we ended up getting married on that same date a year later. So our dating, engagement, and marriage anniversary are all the same date

The morning of the proposal I had a crazy morning at work, and my boss told me to go home about an hour early. My FH worked from home still. I went to unlock the door and Bobby rushed over to the front door and only let it open an inch. "You're home early!" he said, still holding the door so I couldn't get in. I started to tell him about my day when he interrupted asking me to wait outside for a few minutes. I was super confused!

After about 5 minutes, Bobby text me saying I could come inside. When I opened the door I saw so many rose petals all in the living room. There was a note that started a scavenger hunt through the house! Each room had a camera recording, rose petals, and a different song from our relationship. Eventually I got to the roof deck. On the roof deck, with the city skyline as his backdrop, Bobby played guitar and sang me one of my favourite songs (Which will be our first dance song!) and then got down on one knee. I obviously said yes!

We had a beach trip planned to the Outer Banks for the weekend and I had a feeling he was going to propose, but I assumed if he was going to do it, he would do it on Friday or Saturday. After no proposal on Friday and no signs of him doing it on Saturday, I got really upset and told him, "I really thought you were going to propose to me this weekend." to which he responded, "I will one day." I took his response to mean that he was going to wait another 4-5 months and I got even more upset, but little did I know, he was literally about to propose in one day. On Saturday night he asked me if I wanted to go see the sunrise on Sunday and I thought nothing of it because at that point I was convinced it wasn't going to happen. So on Sunday morning around 6:00 AM, we got up and walked to the beach to set up a beach blanket to watch the sunrise. Right after I was done taking some pictures, he said something super cute and I looked over at him and said, "That was so sweet babe!" I still had no idea what was happening. Then he pulled out the ring box and I said, "What?!" After that, he asked me to marry him and I said, "Yes!!!!" I'm so glad he was able to surprise me even after I was already suspecting it. He said doing it on Sunday at sunrise was the plan all along

We had just finished up having a really terrible Thanksgiving, I had gotten into it with my grandmother because she was being insensitive about my aunt having stage 4 cancer and it just really affected me. The next day, we always go to get our Christmas tree and it's literally probably my favorite day of the year. So I woke up the next morning and was still kind of upset, texting my cousin all morning and she was trying to make me feel better. Then we went to the Christmas tree farm. We bring our dog, so she was there and we were all wearing matching plaid. I was cheering up as we were walking and I found the tree. I was excited and asked that we take a picture in front of it before he cut it down. So we bent down to take a picture with the dog and when I got up, he stayed down on one knee. Then he pulled the ring out and asked me to marry him. I was shocked so I said really?! a bunch of times and then he jokingly told me his knee was starting to hurt so could he please have an answer. Of course I said yes!

My husband decided to propose to me after i took a shower - where i wasn't fully dressed yet haha. i mean the way he proposed was romantic but the actual story of it is memorable and funny.

so he kept rushing me to look outside the window into the backyard and i was like but why...? i mean 1. i wasn't even dressed and 2. i wanted to do other stuff so didn't really see the need to rush to look out of a window.

anyway so i finally look and he has this:

and i turn around and hes on his knee and he proposes and i said "yes but i wish you would have proposed when i had pants on" and then he handed me a pair of pants haha.

I had known he was going to propose cause his mom let out the secret.

He proposed on Christmas, cause it's my favorite Holiday (I'm 26 but still spring out of bed at 5AM anxious to start celebrating!) I had woken up as usual at 5 AM all excited for Christmas day, but incredibly hungover from a bottle of wine I consumed on Christmas Eve during an emotional breakdown cause I wasnt able to spend Christmas Eve (my favorite night of the year) with my family as I usually do due to COVID.

I let him sleep in and when he FINALLY woke up we exchanged gifts, and there was no ring so I assumed it wasn't happening that day and he was trying to throw me off cause I already knew it was coming thanks to his mom.

We spent the morning with his family and exchanged gifts with them, then went to my parents for Dinner, we weren't doing Gifts with my parents, because we were waiting till New Years Day to wait for my brother.

After dinner and desert FH says he has one more gift that he didn't give me earlier (literally didn't even know he brought a gift with him) and he hands me a really heavy gift bag. I open the bag and there's a bottle of limoncello in there that my parents had brought back from Italy for me three years prior that I kept saying I was saving for a special occasion. I look up and he's on one knee with my dream ring.

The first thing I said was "I can't take a shot" cause those 25 year old hangovers are no joke and then I just started crying lol

We had friends in WI and we went to visit them. On the way there we stopped at taco bell and got the sauce packets one saying "will you marry me" I made the joke since I knew he already had the ring cuz I helped pick it I just didn't know when it was happening. I made the joke you can propose with the sauce packet. Little did I know he was actually proposing that weekend. On our last day in WI our friends took us to this beautiful park that had a botanical garden. He told me he wanted to get some pictures in the garden in front of my grandma's flower she always grew. ( I never got to meet her but she always grew that flower) as we were taking pictures he proposed and it was absolutely beautiful. He couldn't of done it in a better spot. We go back every year around our engagement date to take pictures in the same spot.

We went on a family trip to Disney and we were talking photos near the castle. Next thing I know he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. I ugly cried lol and everyone around us cheered and congratulated us. He has been my best friend for the past 9 years and dating 3. Everything I ever dreamed of

For my 30th birthday he took me to Orlando with my childhood friends. It was a struggle, because it was last year in the midst of Covid, I didn't want to go anywhere or do anything but he insisted. During the planning, I mentioned that I wanted everyone to get dressed up like we were going out but just wanted to have a nice dinner in our Airbnb. On our second night, they all went around the room telling me how much they love me and how much I've grown the most in our friend group. I honestly didn't know what else could top that because I was in tears from their words. When it was his turn, my friends all backed away from the table, my Godbrother started recording and I was confused. He got on one knee and proposed with the ring his father gave his mother! I can't remember most of what he said but he was fumbling with the ring and I heard him say "I just have one question" and I froze. It was such a magical moment - in front of my supportive friends. I will never forget it.

I had been off of work for 2 weeks recovering from getting my wisdom teeth out (which is no joke when you're 25), and he planned on taking our yearly trip to the Upper Peninsula the weekend before I was supposed to return. I had a feeling he was going to propose while we were there because I went to grab his phone to Google something we had been talking about and he snatched it out of my hand which he never does. It turned out that he tried to order the ring online and his card got flagged for fraud so it didn't go through, but the page was still open. 😂

We drove up Friday night and the usual plan is that we stay in my college town, get dinner at my favorite restaurant, and the next day usually go to some scenic places before driving to his college town. Once we got checked into our hotel I was worried we weren't going to be able to get a table before they closed, so I was rushing him to go and he kept bringing up going to the park that night instead of the next day. I was getting angry with him because I didn't want to miss out on dinner! So he gave up and we went the next morning, but he later told me he was hoping to get it over with that night because he hated hiding it. We were walking out on the rocks next to the lake and I went to walk back to the path, thinking that he must not be proposing at that time. He called my name and when I turned around he was on one knee on the rocks with the water behind him! It was super secluded with just the two of us in my favorite place, it was absolutely perfect.

We were on a Christmas cruise. Christmas day I had surprised him with a European cruise. That night at dinner, the couple next to us asked if we had a nice day. I said, "yeah, and I surprised him with another cruise!" And then HE says - "And I am surprising her with this (whips out the ring) Will you marry me?" As you can see by the picture I was totally blown away, and I think I screamed. Since my alimony wouldn't end for 4 years from the time of this event, I had NO expectations of getting engaged. Some totally random guest must have heard/seen me and ran up and took these pictures. I am forever grateful to him for capturing this moment.

For my birthday, she arranged for us have dinner with my parents at the Italian restaurant we had our first date. It was actually the table next to the one we originally sat at (because that table was only for 2 people not 4, but she was very proud of herself for arranging that it was a similar table space.). She proposed after dessert arrived (with a candle in mine). In the background of one of the pictures is the waitstaff all watching.

My boyfriend surprised me with a weekend getaway for our anniversary. He told me I had to be ready by 4am and I thought why so early. I was even thinking what’s open at that time. Work up that morning and got dressed and he surprised me with a hot air balloon ride. I was super excited because I had never been one one. I felt like he might propose but as the ride came to and end nothing happened. He told me he had one more surprise for me. He takes me to this vineyard later that day and as I Tun the corner a horse and carriage come around the corner. I couldn’t believe it was sor me. We went on a tour of the vineyard and still nothing was happening so I gave up on the idea of him proposing to me. As the tour came to an end I wanted a picture with the horse and carriage and I didn’t notice he was down on one knee. I was so surprised because I didn’t think it was going to happen. That was May 2019. We were supposed to get married last year but covid hit. And we just had our wedding last weekend. I finally had my wedding day and it was perfect
