Pronovias Return/Exchange

Michelle, on February 16, 2016 at 2:33 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

Has anyone has to return or exchange their Pronivias dress? What happened...

I got my dress the day I tried it on

I am now 2nd guessing it

Going to another store tonight to try it back on, and am deathly afraid I'm going to hate it.

It will depend entirely on the boutique. Usually sales are final. You may be able to get store credit. Or resell it. If you hate it tonight, you should call where you bought it right away and see if you have options.

Seconding what Stephanie said..it all depends on the store where you bought it from.

I put a deposit down (50%) on a dress at a boutique and had severe dress regret. I called them 2 months later and told them my situation. I was able to find another dress in the same boutique and I had to pay a 15% restocking fee (I thought this was crap but I hated my first dress..came out to like $190) and was able to cancel the first dress order instead of having to pay full price for it and try to resell it myself for less than what I paid for it.

    Oh boy.

We got it at their NYC store, so I'm not sure what's going to happen.

I bought Mildred. It's the only dress I'd tried on so far that made me feel like a bride, that made me feel good about how many body looked in it, who's bottom didn't scare me or turn me off. There was no lace to hate or critique (I never wanted a lace dress), but I did want some kind of bling or something....

    My problem is:

    - the lack of bling anywhere, even something small

    - I keep being drawn to dresses with these magnificent backs and breathtaking trains

    I love:

    - the rouching

    - the fabric

    - how light the dress feels

    - that my legs don't feel confined

    - that I got to the try it on and see it in the color I'd be wearing

I felt at peace when they put the veil on. I felt good saying "yes" when the woman asked if I had on my wedding dress. I could see myself walking in it.

No, I'm not sure if the lack of amazing back and beading is a deal-breaker, but it might be.

The reviews online are all positive... other brides feel the same; the lack of something

Then there's my mother who repeatedly tells me how plain the dress is, that it needs something.

She went to a store this morning for her dress, took it upon herself to browse the wedding dress rack and came across my dress. So I'm either going tonight or tomorrow; depending when the store closes and when I get out of work, and trying it on for the 2nd time -- which I probably should have done prior to purchasing it.

I just looked up that dress...and it would be very easy to add bling to it by either adding a belt or a killer statement necklace (which is my fave thing ever). Try and accessorize it when you try it on again and see if you feel differently.

I actually magically found someone who added stuff to the dress and is re-selling it -- it looks like they completely ruined the dress

I can't open that link you put up because I'm at work but I found these 2 pictures and I think a blingy belt really adds sparkle but doesn't take away or overpower the dress. The dress is beautiful, very bridal!

It's very modern to me with classic lines. Personally, I think a sparkly belt would add some sparkle if you want to (though it is nice without as well) or you could consider a sparkly veil which would be nice in that you could have sparkle for the ceremony part of the night and then take it off and have the simplicity for the reception. You could also look for some really wow statement jewelry.

@Michelle, I bought the same dress! Like you, it was the only dress I felt "bridal" in. It gorgeous in person, photos definitely don't do it justice.

At first I was taken aback because there is no blind or beading, but that's when I realized the beauty is in how simple and elegant the dress is. My family had pressured me into trying on different belts to add some bling, but my consultant pointed out the intricacy in the fabric rouching on the bodice and how a belt sort of breaks the eye line. I opted for blingy jewelry instead. Hope you don't regret the dress. I can't wait to wear mine.
