Program Attendants

Christine, on March 18, 2011 at 4:03 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9

I plan on doing programs. If I do then I need someone handing them out as people arrive. I was thinking of asking my cousins to do this. Are you supposed to get them a gift like you do for your wedding party?

Typically yes because technically they would be called ushers because they will be standing at the entrance handing these out. I am invovling my FH's son and my sons as well 2 will be seating people as the other 2 pass out our programs.

I guess it depends on the gift you are getting your groomsmen. My coordinator is going to put my programs in the chairs along with kissing bells.

I think we will have the groomsmen actually ushering/seating people. I just thought of asking my cousins to hand people the programs before they are ushered to their seats.

I think FS is getting the GM watches with their alma mater. They all went to the same college. I was thinking of asking 2-3 female cousins to hand out the programs. I have 2 female & 2 males brides"maids" and am getting them different stuff.

@Edwina: Good idea, I didn't think of just having them at the seats already. Our ceremony is outside though. It might be a bad idea for me in case the wind blows and we have programs flying everywhere.

Do most people just have the ushers hold the programs? I can't remember exactly from the weddings I have been to but I feel like they usually have different people handing out programs than ushering.

Well there are ushers who do this and sometimes people have hostess also whenyou have both then the hostesses pass out the programs and the ushers seat people. I am not having any hostess just ushers so Im splitting the duties up between them.

Hi there! How many people are you having at the wedding? I was thinking about having 2 ppl usher (to take them to their seats) and 2 ppl passing out programs too but one may only do it so long. So i was curious how many people you are going to have?
