Not if you don't want to. I personally did because I don't know anything about makeup. However, plenty of people do their own makeup for their weddings and look amazing. If you're comfortable doing your own, go for it!

Not at all but it is nice to be pampered that day and is smart if you don't know makeup, or specifically the makeup look you want, very well. Also they make sure it lasts all day and use good product you may not be using

They also know photos and how much they need for it to show and not be too much, etc!

I'm feel confident enough in my make up skills for everyday use, but bad eyeliner days happen and I reeeally don't want that for my wedding day! A nice little safety net.

I’m not and I know NOTHING about makeup. I found a couple of easy tutorials on YouTube and I’m sure one of my girl friends will know what’s up so I’m not worried about it.

It's not necessary. I did, because I figured my hands would be shaking when I was trying to apply and I'd screw it up, badly lol. It is a nice way to be pampered to get your hair and makeup (and nails) done professionally.

Nope! Totally a personal preference. I love makeup and have been an artist for other gals before, but I don’t want to have to worry about anything on my wedding day so I’m budgeting for someone who can do hair and makeup.

I got mine done 22 years ago at my first wedding. It cost my parents a fortune and I ended up barely looking like myself.

this time my FSIL will be doing my makeup. She knows what I like. She refuses to be paid so I’m getting her a spa gift certificate.

Not necessary. I decided to because I’m not the best at my own. We are also getting married in July so I want to make sure it stays.

Me too. And it was so lovely to have some time before the wedding to relax and be pampered.

If you are comfortable doing it yourself, then no. I knew I couldn't do as good of a job as a professional, I can't do fake lashes, I wanted all the bridesmaids & moms to get theirs done, and I knew I couldn't make hair & makeup last all day. Every bride is different!

I was SET on doing it myself and knew I'd never let anyone else touch my face for such an important day.......I'm 31 days out now and I've got a make up artist booked. Sometimes we surprise ourselves ;-)

Do whatever makes you the most comfortable! My plan was to get ready at my house and that switched to getting ready at a hotel. The idea of packing ALL of the makeup I would want days before my wedding made me very nervous. I booked an artist simply for the fact that I won't have to stress out about making sure I packed everything. Whatever feels right for you is what you should do!

If you don't know how to do it yourself but want your makeup done that then yes i'd hire a professional.
