Processional /// Two different songs?

Leesha, on May 20, 2015 at 2:12 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12

Are you and your BM walking down the aisle to the same song?

Or when your BP walks down the aisle, do they put on a different song for you?

I am stuck

EDIT: Ps , am i the only one who cries when I hear the song I am walking down the aisle too?

I'm walking to a different song than my BP. And yes, I cry every single time I hear it.

They're different stanzas of the same instrumental songs (one for the recessional and one for the processional)....just get louder when I walk down the aisle and again when FH and I walk together.

BP walking to one and I'll be walking in to a different one.

Is that the proper etiquette? Or does it matter?

I think its really a personal choice. We had 4 different songs. I had 1 song for step MIL, DH's grandmother, MIL and my mother. I had the groom walk down the aisle (with his BM and his father who was the officiant), a song for the bridesmaids, a song for MOH, RB/FG and then "my" music. Until the wedding I cried every time I heard my song but as I was so in the moment I didn't really even register the song so it doesn't affect me anymore. But I do tear up if I hear the recessional and I am with my husband (it brings me back to the moment we were pronounced husband and wife).

We walked down to different songs. The guys and girls walked in and then after they were up there my father and I walked in to the bridal march

Everyone walked down to the same song at our wedding. grandparents, parents, bridal party and bride. I had some push back when I said I wanted to do it that way, but I did it anyway because it was more simple and I didn't need extra attention on me. Smiley smile

Normally there are 2 songs, but if you only want 1 song it's fine. It switches songs for the bride's entrance.

We'll have two different songs; one for the BP and one for me. It really is personal choice I think. I cry every time my song comes on. It is literally the perfect song.

I don't think it's an etiquette issue. Just a preference thing. All weddings I have been to (as well as my own) have had separate songs for the BP and the bride. It makes it more dramatic when the song changes - everyone KNOWS that its time for the bride to come out. One song, without something at least to indicate a difference (like what @Maltese is doing with the volume change), won't make it as obvious to your guests that you're coming.

Again, it doesn't matter if it's more than one song. But I would at least increase the volume when it's time for you to come out.

We are only having one song, but it'll get louder when it's my turn.
