Processional Song- Alternative Rock/ Screamo/ Post Hardcore

SoonToBeMrsP!, on July 13, 2016 at 2:48 PM Posted in Planning 1 19

I know there are other posts about what everyone is choosing for a processional song, but I am reaching out for those of you who, like my FH and I, are not into traditional/ classical music... Anyone here use an alternative rock/ screamo/ post hardcore song?

I love "Have Faith in Me" by A Day To Remember, and was thinking the first 58seconds.... but I dont know if that is okay to use?!

I dont want to walk down to something that neither of us would listen to at any other point in our life!

Please make that ceremony about the both of you! I always tell my couples this and have officiated at a number of weddings that, either with the music or the readings, are about them as a couple, not what they think others would want. Best wishes!

Have you checked out Offbeatbride.com ?

I love browsing their stuff because you can really feel the personalities of the couples, even in the photos and articles.

I can't think of any songs off the top of my head but I love this idea. Maybe something from Avenged or Slipknot or something more chill from Breaking Benjamin or Shinedown. My first dance is to "I'll Follow You" and it has a wedding feel to it. Another thought is a song from Apocalyptica so it's still got the traditional feel to it with the string instruments.

Our first dance was "you had me at hello" by A Day to Remember!! My sister played a Nine Inch nails song for her resscional. It's your wedding, if you both love the song then go for it!!

It really comes dow to doing whatever you both feel comfortable doing, because it your day!

I love the idea, and that's a really great song, too.. just my two cents. Smiley smile I love when I go to a wedding and the couple does something that strays from the traditional and really make their own personality shine through.

Vitamin String Quartet actually covered a lot of bands that we like!!

When I played the VSQ version of Red Jumpsuit Apparatus "Your Guardian Angel" my eyes filled with happy tears!!! When we first started dating FH and I used to make each other CDs, the original song was one that I had put on one for him! Can't be more perfect!!!

Thank you so much for your suggestions!

Most people I have told have complained about my entrance song because they think it's "depressing" where as me and h2b find it beautiful by one of our shared fave bands. So we are going with Emarosa - Porcelain.

Bring me the horizon - Follow you (piano I'll link it) is the song for my bridesmaids to walk into

Also Delta Goodrem does a great cover of I believe in a thing called love by The Darkness

Laura, that all sounds amazing!!! If it is music that you love I can guarantee that you will not regret including it in your ceremony! The best part is the feeling you will get years after your wedding when you are on shuffle and one of your wedding songs comes on! 😁🤗
