Processional order and music...

SwoleMates2016, on October 11, 2015 at 11:37 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

We won't be having a BP. I'm completely lost on how to handle the processional. Would it be awkward for the ceremony music to start and then *bam* there I am? It's going to be a night wedding and rather formal. My officiant is my father. I'm walking myself down. We could have my mother, father and his mom and dad walk down in some way.

Second part would be if we did have others in the processional should I have one song for them and one for me or just one since it'll be short?

Thanks!

We are only having a best man and MOH and then my father is walking me down the aisle so it will be short as well. We don't have anything set yet, but we will probably just have some instrumental music playing as everyone is being seated then a different song when FH, BM and MOH walk down the aisle then it will go into the song my father will walk me down the aisle to. I would say if it ends up just being you and you don't have a song for the parents make sure you have some instrumental music as everyone is being seated and then make your song a strong one so they know its time! Good luck!!

OP - I would have a song play while the parents are escorted down to their seats, then have that song change for your entrance.

I would have parents/ grand parents walk down a head of you.

We had the officiant himself walk down first, which would be particularly appropriate if it is your father. You could also have the groom process just ahead of you instead of just appearing at the side. (He is, after all, as important a part of the wedding as you are.) The two sets of parents and the grandparents could walk ahead of him.

Like the others mentioned, I think having your parents walk down to a song would be a good idea. Gives a little time before you walk down, and it's a nice way to honor them.

But would it look awkward if there were no processional at all? Maybe just FH and then me? I'm walking alone because I feel weird asking my dad to "give me away" for the second time...

I wish it was that easy Tania Smiley sad I guess I don't feel like I deserve to have him walk me again. I don't know how to get over that.
