Processional music

Amy, on January 10, 2022 at 3:58 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 9

Is anyone using just one song for the processional? I am wanting to do "Perfect" X Ed sheeran because it speaks to our story and I want the guests to hear the majority of the song. If I only use it for my entrance we may not get to the chorus. Has this worked for others in the past?

I am contemplating only using one song for our processional, since our wedding party is small. Either that, or we may use one song for everyone else, then a shortened version of a different song for myself

Yeah, my wedding party is small too. 3 on my side and 4 on his and it's an indoor wedding so the aisle isn't super long. I think it would work just don't know about the timing/if people will know when to stand up for me and my dad.

I’m in the same boat! My wedding party is small and I love the song I want to walk to and want most of it to play

Yeah so what I think I'm going to do is have the song start when my FH is walking his mom down then my stepmom will go then my bridal party/officiant then me and my dad. The song is about 4 minutes long so if for some reason it gets to the end I picked out an instrumental version of the same song to play the rest of the way but I highly doubt it will go that entire time

Hi Melissa! Can you do a practice run with the song?? Or time a practice walk so you have an idea of how long it will take each person to walk down the aisle? I think the song will be plenty long, but you'll definitely want to check!

And you can have your officiant cue your guests to stand after the bridal party has walked in!

We will have a rehearsal but unfortunately its the day before and I'm not counting on people being organized enough to actually time the songs. Just knowing my crowd they will not be that focused but I do think its a great idea for the officiant cue. I don't know why I didn't think of that! Thank you!

I love that! My fiancé already plans to be standing up front with his groomsmen as the precessional starts. Then will be my parents (mom and stepdad), his parents, my one bridesmaid, my sister who is my MOH accompanied by my dad, then me alone. My fiancé is going to meet me half way to finish the walk together 🥰 we’re going to take a moment to ourselves and then finish the walk. Our song is 4 minutes 15 seconds. I doubt we’ll take that long but the first like 40 seconds im letting play alone before anyone walks. And it does have an instrumental version I can play if I need to after. What song are you using?

I'm using Perfect X Ed Sheeran, you? I like the idea of separating the people up and walking differently - I might consider that.

That’s a good song! I forgot to include my officiant in there when I listed everyone but yeah I’m using turning page by sleeping at last
