Processional music

Amanda, on October 23, 2021 at 3:00 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 11

Ok, I have a question about processional music.

My fiancé and I are both blind. Getting down the aisle won't be a problem for me since my dad will be walking me down. To solve the problem of my fiancé's entrance, we decided that his mom would walk him down the aisle to his spot. Since this is a small destination wedding, I wasn't going to have ushers or anything seating guests since they will be there for both sides and can sit where they want. My thought was to have my fiancé's dad walk my mom down the aisle to her seat to kick things off. My question is this, would it be inappropriate or in bad taste if I used the same music for our parents to enter to that he comes into? I only am thinking of doing this because the song that has been chosen is over 4 minutes long, and we both really like it to the end. I thought this would be a sure fire way to have the whole song played without dragging the ceremony out.

What are y'all's thoughts?

It’s very common to have parents seated with the same music for the groom’s entrance and bridesmaids. I don’t seem anything wrong with your idea.

I was not sure, because the only weddings I have been to before the parents either didn’t have entrance music, or the parents and the groom had different music. I plan on the bridesmaid/groomsmen to have different music than the groom and the parents though. i’m probably making this stuff way more complicated than it needs to be! LOL

It's perfectly fine to have the same music.

In all the weddings I've been to, either the groom was there and did not participate in the procesional and there was 1 song for parents/bridal party/etc and then a separate song for the bride, or if the groom did walk on the processional again only the bride had a different song. If the song is 4 minutes long, unless you have a VERY long aisle, you can walk the groom, parents, and bridal party down in that 4 minutes. I honestly wouldn't do 3 separate songs for the processional. That's a lot of change-ups in a short amount of time.

I'm also using one song for the entire family/wedding party. Definitely won't offend anyone.

Not in bad taste at all! Especially if the song is special and meaningful to you! To be honest, most people probably won't even notice.
