Processional and recessional songs?

Future Mrs. Toliver, on February 1, 2017 at 3:37 PM Posted in Planning 0 19

What are y'all playing for processional and recessional songs? Is your processional song different from what you're walking down the aisle to? I need inspiration!

Processional (bride) - Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin

"Fall for you" by Leela James and my cousin wrote a song that he will sing and play on the piano when I walk down aisle.

We walk out to "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" by Stevie Wonder

We're still going back and forth over the recessional song.

Processional will be Take my hand (the wedding song) by Emily Hackett.

@Kashawn I showed FH "signed, sealed, delivered" and he didn't feel it was "a couples song" but he does like "you're my best friend" by Queen

We will have a choir singing the processional for everyone else except me. They are doing "Ubi Caritas." FI is a choral director, so we have to have choral music. For me and my dad, we are doing "Cannon in D" which will then turn into something else, which will be a surprise and hopefully hilarious. For recessional, we are doing "Walking on Sunshine."

I haven't decided whether I want instrumental music or a song with lyrics for the processional, but some options I've considered are:

I Get To Love You- Ruelle

    Feels Like Home- Chantal Krebiazuk

and of course my traditional pick is Canon in D!

Would it be weird to switch from Canon in D for the BP to "look at me" by Carrie Underwood for me?

I chose "Truly Madly Deeply" by Savage Garden for my processional... FH Loved "Just the way you are" by Bruno Mars for the Recessional

So far we're going with those. Smiley smile

Since we're having a beach wedding in Hawaii I decided on the Hawaiian wedding song by Elvis for the entrance and From This Moment On by Shania Twain for the exit.

Went back and forth on the processional for a while but we finally picked last week. We're using the Vitamin String Quartet version of "Storybook Love" from The Princess Bride. For the recessional we're using "As" by Stevie Wonder.

Oh, the music . . . I had all of it nailed down, the DH decided he wanted to revamp it. There were some spirited debates going on that night, let me tell you! Haha

Parent's entrance: Theme song of Rudy (piano instrumental)

Bridesmaids: Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera (also instrumental)

Me: Canon in D (if it had been closer to Christmas, I would have used the Trans-Siberian Orchestra version, hand's down)

Recessional: Signed, Sealed, Delivered - this one was a surprise to everyone, and it really ended the ceremony on a high note, with all of our guests laughing, whooping it up, and getting into it - great choice!

My bridal party is walking down to "Halo" by Beyoncé, I am walking down to the traditional "Bride Procession", and we are walking out to "No one" by Alicia keys. All music will be performed by a love string trio

Haven't decided on all the music yet, but I'll be walking down the aisle to an instrumental version of "I See the Light" from the movie Tangled (definitely stole that from a bride on here), and our recessional song will be "Loving You Easy" by Zac Brown Band. FH hates most country, so I'm happy I slipped that song in there.
