Problem with Seating Chart FRUSTRATING

Julie, on April 5, 2011 at 1:25 AM Posted in Planning 0 5

First I will add that I am a professional in the field and frequently send brides your way for planning tools. I am planning a national fundraising gala and decided to use your site for placing our guests at tables. This has been very frustrating. This evening I have had to re-enter the seating chart three times and it does not save. According to another post I read, your site should save with each change. I then decided to save the file from my browser & email it to myself. Again - a completely blank document. This has been a waste of time. I found it extremely easy to enter in the guests & then drop & drag to their appropriate tables. Again, lost ALL the data. Not sure if I would recommend you to my brides. They need an easy to use and reliable system. I am so upset that I just can't navigate thru the system tonight. Fresh eyes in the morning. Anyone have a suggestion as to whom I should direct my complaint? Frustration is the very last thing a bride/wedding planner needs before the big day!

Sorry the site was being a pain... I understand the frustration....

you can try this one tomorrow?

    http://www.seatingarrangement.com/

This site is free, it lets you put in the dimensions of the room and the size/shape of the tables

    Hi Julie,

Thank you for your feedback. However, we tested the issue you were having with saving your seating chart and we were not able to replicate it. Could you please tell us which internet browser you are using?

We look forward to hearing from you!

You know this is the EXACT same response that I got when I couldn't and HAVEN'T gotten the email export guest list deal on here to work! So not only has the feature been extremely frustrating and completely USELESS!! As you said, NOT something a bride wants to deal with. When I complained about the issue I got the same exact response with the exact same wording. And even when I explained in detail what exactly I was doing, I was still told they weren't having any issues! Well that's AWESOME that YOU aren't but on MY end I AM!! THAT'S THE POINT! So Julie it's unfortunate but it seems to be commonplace on here that features are offered that don't actually work. I have now been looking at other places for templates etc for seating charts and guest list/email templates.

I had a similar problem! I entered it in about three times, but it never saved quite right. Then later I got back into the site and it had my first draft version on the website but none of the updates that I had made from my third try. Very frustrating! I wish there was a simple save button on the seating chart page so that I knew my work was being saved!

OMG! I just attempted the seating chart functionality for the 3rd time, and like others have stated, the d*mn thing does not save!

Julie of WW Support - here's how you replicate it. go create a list of guests, then go to seating. when you are into the functionality, go ahead and create tables and assign your guests to random tables. then, when you are done, tell me where on the page is there a "save" button or action to take. [after a few minutes of not finding a 'save button'] Yeah, then try refreshing the browser. Pow! you will see either a blank seating chart OR a partially filled chart. You've just lost all the time spent on assigning your guests and are left with frustration seeing either a blank or partial seating chart.

I'm going elsewhere for seating arrangement as well....

P.S. I tried the seating assignment functionality across Chrome, IE, and Firefox -- SAME ISSUE ACROSS ALL TESTED BROWSERS! (I'm an online mkting manager so I know to test across browsers)
