What exactly does is mean to say a marriage license is valid for 30 days? Does that mean we can't get it before 30 days before our wedding? Also, will I need to do all the legal process of changing my name within 30 days? That doesn't seem like very much time...help! I fee like an idiot... haha

It ACTUALLY means that you have 30 days from the issue date to MARRY, and have it SIGNED by the person who is marrying you. THEN you MUST get it to the courthouse for final submission within 30 days from the issue date.
