We got our professional photos back a few weeks ago and I still can't stop looking at them! We kept our engagement and planning a secret from friends and extended family (like a pseudo-elopement) and just had an intimate ceremony in my parent's backyard with our parents and siblings (and their SOs). 8 guests total. So happy that we stuck to our vision and kept it secret and small so we could keep planning simple, avoid a ton of planning/invite drama, and focus on enjoying the day/our love. We will be celebrating with some pizza and booze soon with friends at home
For those of you still planning, definitely stick to your vision and don't let others bully you into a day you don't want (whether big or small, kids/no kids, etc). It's a big expense and an important milestone - you want to look back on it with all joy and no regrets!
Edit to clarify: The first look and portrait shots were taken 30 min away at Lake Pleasant Regional Park. My parent's backyard was used for the ceremony.
