I just realized I never posted a BAM! It took our pictures a few weeks- still waiting on the printed albums but it’s ready apparently now.
Our day was overall absolutely fantastic. Hiccups first:
Best Man had the flu and his wife was coordinating wedding- they were both so sick they couldn’t make it. Ceremony went great anyway but we hated they were so sick!
-My out of town older sisters caused a lot of drama. They offered to come early to help set up (reception at home) and one arrived completely not ready, took up master bath so groom couldn’t get ready, had bridesmaid painting her toenails, completely ridiculous. Then they tried to bring chick-fil-a to my vegan, catered reception in my home! I told them do NOT bring a plate of chicken in my home, so they hit the drive through between the wedding and reception with their nephew (my son and groomsman) so we waited outside 20 min to be announced and enter. Also got drunk and prevented us leaving when we wanted too. So aggravating.
- forgot his mom’s corsage and boutonnières in the fridge at home. Didn’t even realize it until we were on the way back. Lol
The ceremony was very meaningful and beautiful. We ended up moving it inside, it was just too windy and cold. So we didn’t do much decorating of the sanctuary, it really didn’t need it. We both cried, it was such an awesome day. We also said vows to our children.
The reception was at our house and we had a day of coordinator to help with that. I one hundred percent recommend To have one, she helped us so much getting things sorted out and we could really just enjoy our party. The food was amazing, our DJ was fantastic, and everyone had a really good time.
Tips:
-Of course, try not to sweat the little things. Marriage>wedding
-Take five minutes alone together after the ceremony. We only had 30 some guests. So we said hello to everyone as they came out of the church, then we scooted to the library to take five minutes of just quiet time together. This time was absolutely precious to us. We didn’t tell anyone we were going to do it and everyone was looking for us but this time was absolutely precious and one of my favorite parts of the day. We didn’t tell anyone we were going to do it and everyone was looking for us but we needed it.
-Once you see your intended standing there, everything else just fades away. The nervousness ebbs, you’re just walking to him/her and everything is ok. ❤️
