Ok so I got my invitation templates from Etsy and readh to print everything. I've been looking on vista print, but have you used and others?? I just want to make sure they're printed good and don't look cheaply made.

Vistaprint is awesome. I used them for invitations and have used them for other things in the past. I upgraded to the "linen finish" for my invitation suite because I wanted something a little fancier feeling.

I did vista and upgraded paper. you should get the free sample pack from them so you can see and feel quality of paper. vista is always having sales and it was a perfect choice for me. the customer service is awesome too. i did linen paper for STD and upgraded paper for invites but forget which upgrade i did. i do know i kept RSVPs regular paper and they are totally fine

I ordered mine on etsy and she gave me directions on how to print. I printed at catprint.com. If you contact them and explain what you need an sizing they can help and they can send you a sample too. Great pricing too

That's exactly what I was having an issue with, knowing which paper upgrade to choose!!

I also got my invitations from Etsy. I was bummed that Vistaprint doesn't print belly bands (I paid extra to have one made), so I took the PDF/JPG images that the Etsy owner sent to me over to Staples and they were able to print everything for me. I picked out white 110lb cardstock and they look AMAZING. Just as nice from any website (i.e. Minted, Shutterfly, Vistaprint etc.).

Bonus was that with a coupon, I only paid $62 for 100 belly bands, 100 5x7 invitations (5x7 white envelopes come free), 100 3x5 RSVP cards, and 25 rehearsal cards. I had to purchase the white envelopes for the RSVP cards, but no complaints!

ETA: They also cut everything down to size for me. They charge you p/page rather than p/invitation, so that's how you save so much!

There are three things you need to think about:

    1. Paper thickness: Make sure you choose the best quality paper you can for the price. In order for them not to feel cheap, you want to print on at least 80lb cardstock. I recommend getting 100 lb cardstock if you can.

    2. The finish (e.g. glossy, matte, semi-gloss, etc.). Most wedding invitations are matte. This will depend on the look you are going for and the actual contents of your invitation (e.g. just text vs decorative images with text).

    3. The texture. Most invitations have a "flat" texture, which means there really is no texture at all. However, linen textures are gaining popularity, especially if you want that vintage feel to it. Linen makes them just that little bit more special.

Let me know if you have other questions! I actually design invitations as a side business.

I plan on using Cards and Pockets to print my whole suite and get my extras. I haven't done it yet so I can't comment on my experience, but the prices are great and I've heard good things.

I used Catprint and I was super impressed. You can order paper samples, as well as free hard copy proofs of your intives before they're printed. The quality and customer service were both amazing.

    I used Moo!

they are amazing. I actually think you can’t go wrong with any of their products. Their web interface is super easy too. Like Vista, they also run good specials and they sell envelopes and other related products.

The Etsy designer should’ve asked where you were printing (Vista and Moo are two mos popular) to make sure the file is formatted correctly. They should also be able to recommend the best product for printing their product (paper finish, paper weight).

Vista print is pretty affordable and the quality really is pretty good. I got my STD's, invitations, RSVP cards, and address labels through them and everything came out perfectly.

How did you address the envelopes? Did staples do that for you as well?

No, they did not. I bought a template on Etsy for $3-$5 and printed them individually at home through my printer. I used a stamp for the return address that I purchased, also on Etsy.
