Printing Invitations through Shutterfly?

Whitney, on September 3, 2021 at 8:48 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 9

I purchased an invitation suite template on Etsy and customized it for my own wedding, but I'm not able to print them myself like originally planned. Now I'm scrambling to find a place to print them in time but still stick to the budget. Has anyone had luck printing an Etsy-bought invitation template on Shutterfly? I'm hesitant to order through them since I'm not able to see it in person. Do you have other suggestions besides Staples/Office Depot to get invitations, RSVPs, and detail cards printed for a reasonable price?

I had the same problem. I wound up using Cards and Pockets. For 60 invitations it was $300, including stationary.

Originally I did design my own invitations on MS Word and used the Shutterfly design your own template. It could’ve been my design, but printed very blurry. I ended up picking a design from Zazzle and although more expensive, was clear. We used the printed envelopes from Shutterfly which were great! I have heard very good things about Staples. Perhaps have them print a sample? Good luck ❤️❤️❤️

I had my save the dates designed on fiverr (I believe we got both png and jpg files) and then printed on Shutterfly and they turned out great! Loved that they addressed the envelopes.

I would also suggest Cards and Pockets as Kristie suggested. I just got 75 invitations/RSVPs and envelopes for them and it came out to like $150 (they were having a huge sale). They do a really good job and you can order a proof first as well to make sure that they look the way you want them to.

I posted this on another discussion but I feel it's relevant here too. I purchased an invitation suite (included invitation, RSVP card, and details card) from SimplyDIYPaperie on Etsy for $10. I tried to print them at home, but my printer could not handle the 110 pound cardstock I wanted to use, so I checked out at least a dozen printing services including Walmart, OfficeMax, Vistaprint, Shutterfly - pretty much every one you could think of! I ended up printing with an online company called Prints of Love and I'm so glad I choose them! Not only did my invitations and RSVP cards come out beautiful, but the image I had uploaded was (without my knowledge) a low-quality image and someone contacted me immediately and guided me to create a high-resolution image that would turn out better than the image I originally uploaded. I paid $118 for 60 invitations (5"x7") and 60 RSVP cards (3.5"x5"), both printed on the front and back, on a premium cardstock, and 60 white (5"x7") envelopes. I mounted my RSVP card on a sage green cardstock (purchased at Hobby Lobby for $6) and wrapped a gold belly band (purchased gold cardstock on Amazon for $14 and cut them into 1" strips) around the invitation and RSVP card. They turned out amazing and I paid under $150 total, and that was with a TON of sage green cardstock and belly bands left over. I hope this helps you!

Did they look blurry on shutterfly? I did my own design but am afraid to order them on shutterfly because they look a little blurry on my computer

If it looks blurry on your computer screen at 100% then there's a chance that no matter where you print it, it will look blurry. Do you have a regular printer to try printing it on just to check?

My FH and I did that. We had cardsandpockets.com print them out. Make sure ask for a sample before ordering them. They came out beautiful!
