abri, on December 31, 2008 at 11:24 AM Posted in Planning 0 5

Hi, I need some ideas. My bridesmaids will wear a victorian lilac dress and I need some ideas to what color should the primary sponsor dress would be and my parents and my fiance parents dresses. I dont want both the bridesmaids and primary sponsor to have same color of dresses. My color theme for my wedidng is Victorian Lilac and Silver/Platinum. What other colors would go with my theme? Thanks guys!

My colors are shades of purple and silver. I decided to have different shades of purple because I couldn't decide on just one. Perhaps that could work for you as well. There are so many different shades of purple that would look great with victorian lilac. Best of Wishes!!!

The colors you stated above wll be fine. Sometimes brides distinguish their bridesmaids and primary sponsor or maids/matrom of honor in different colors or even different dresses. You can also coordinate your mother & mother-in-law dress color with the wedding party, I did that when I was coordinating my wedding. Congratulaions and good luck!

First things first...Happy 2009 and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!!

Choosing a flattering color scheme and attire for your wedding party can definitely be a very trying element of your event planning. Because you are going with Lilac and Silver/Platinum, you can go make it warm or cool in its tone. If you are talking about 'David's Bridal' Lilac, I would accompany it with a muted Silver/Platinum (not necessarily shiny, unless its a part of the 'bling element')

Your sponsor and parents can wear a 'soft/light gray' or even 'off-white' with lilac accents. If you're open to additional colors, you can also add a darker tone like 'midnight blue' or 'pewter gray'. It really depends on what vision you have for your event.

Is your event 'Victorian Style' or does it just have a Victorian color?

    Congratulations again!
