Prices at Secrets Montego Bay, Jamaica

Amanda , on August 18, 2017 at 10:17 AM Posted in Planning 0 8

Hello!

My fiancé and I are looking to have our destination wedding at Secrets St. James or Wild Orchard in Montego Bay next summer. We plan to have 20-25 guests fly out for the wedding and to stay. I've read over their wedding packages and don't see anyplace where they give details or prices on dinner options/reception. Can anyone comment on their experience with pricing on have a semi private dinner vs private dinner, reception for 2-3 hours with DJ, and the costs of photography at the resort? Thank you for all your help!

Secrets Montego Bay is AMAZING! I was there for work and the staff is great! I know nothing about prices, but if you download their App (AMResorts) you will find the different packages for weddings under their resort information. You are better off emailing their weddings or sales person for the information. Let me know if you would like their email Smiley smile

Why not just contact them and get a quote? Or contact your local travel agent -- there is no fee to use a TA's services.

I have tried contacting the resort but they are very slow to respond. I am also working with a travel agent, however, she doesn't have prices on anything more than the wedding packages listed online. I was hoping that a few brides that have gotten married there could just give me an estimate of what to expect when it comes to prices.

I don't know these resorts specific, Are these all inclusive resorts? If so, the wedding packages are typically very cheap, because your guests are required to stay on site and pay the all inclusive rate... which means essentially they are paying for their meals and drinks at your wedding. The resorts typically have a price per person can provide you for guests not staying on site, the quotes I got were $100-150. Absolutely contact them more and they can help. There are also a few restaurants around resort areas that aren't this way, but my research showed them to be quite costly.

It used to be my job to book this sort of thing (destination weddings, family reunions, and corporate retreats mostly.) Typically the basic level reception was free. The bride and groom would stay for free, too, as long as they convinced at least 5 other couples to book. That's actually one of the reasons I am very anti destination wedding; it literally pushes the costs of hosting into the guests, who are paying $400 or more per night to subsidize your free vacation and party.

It's a beautiful resort, though. Pro tip: stay on the St. James side if it's cheaper than Wild Orchid--and it usually is. They are just different buildings on the same resort property, and they share all the restaurants and amenities.

I stayed at Secrets in February and I have also planned destination weddings there. The costs of the added requests such as private dining, number of photos in the photography package and more will often depend on which wedding package you choose. Depending upon what will be most important to you should lead you to the correct package. Since not everyone wants the same inclusions, you can always add on, at additional cost the extras which will make your destination wedding just as you wish.

There are some differences between Secrets St. James and Wild Orchid though they share many of the restaurants and entertainment areas.

I am available to help if you would like.

The best way to find out pricing and get the best rates is to book with a travel agent company that specializes in DW. They know of so many resorts and can help answer all your questions

I am struggling with the same decision. We are doing a vow renewal to celebrate 30 years of marriage and have about 20 friends traveling to witness the ceremony. I'm not sure if I should add on one of the private dinner included with a package or a la carte the items I desire.
