Price range for dress

Tiona, on February 8, 2021 at 3:04 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 20
I haven’t started to try on dresses or anything but I want to have a general idea of what’s a good budget on the dress. I know I would like a ball gown dress, and I would like to have a general idea of what kind of price range I’m looking at for a big ball gown dress.

You should base your budget on what you can personally afford. You can find a beautiful dress from. 100$ - 100k. But I think most dresses are priced between 1k and 2.5k.

It definitely depends on your budget & what you can afford. You can find dresses for hundreds of dollars, there are also dresses that cost thousands of dollars. It also depends on the details of the dress, the designer etc.

Echoing comments from above, it really depends on multiple factors such as designer, material and amount of detail. If you want a specific designer like Pnina Tornai you're looking at $2,400 to 5,000+ where as Mori Lee or Maggie Sottero might fall between $800 and 1,500. Make a budget and stick to it and absolutely do not look at anything above your budget.

According to my research most brides spend on average $1,631 (with alterations) for the dress

    Hope that helps!

You should base your dress on what you can spend, not what you can spend off of a dress. Only you know your budget.

Totally agree with everyone! My budget was $1500 for the dress & alterations. Bought my dress for $810 & the alterations was $770 (that includes then steaming my dress & veil) so I went over by $80.

You can find a dress for $100 or $10,000 - it depends what your price range is. I’d start by determining your budget for your wedding overall and then what you are willing to spend on a dress. It seems like most people here spend $500-2k on dresses on average.

I agree with everyone else, but it also depends where you are wanting to buy a dress. I had wanted to buy local, but all of the local dress shops only have dresses starting at $2,500

It all depends on what you want or willing to spend.
My best friend bought a brand new with tags Vera Wang dress from the goodwill 50 bucks. My sister went to a boutique and spent 2700.
It's what you want.David's Bridal is having a massive sale right now on dresses and they are dropping to $99 on some dresses, and other are still over 1700.

It all depends on what you can afford! I would sit down and figure up a budget for your entire wedding and see what you feel comfortable spending on a dress.

If you go to a local bridal boutique, you'll probably spend anywhere fro $1,000 - $3,000 easily. But I've found a ton of online boutiques and Etsy shops that are a little less expensive. It all depends on your style and how important the dress is to you!

Everyone's dress budget is different based on what they can afford. It's like asking how much you should spend on a house - there's a wide range of answers depending on each person's financial situation. The best advice is to determine your own dress budget based on what you can personally comfortably afford, without going into debt (do NOT charge your dress on a credit card), and doesn't make you "wedding poor."

You know.. i wasn't as shocked as i thought i was going to be. On the hanger, i fell in love and the material of course was nice but i felt it was to busy and i didnt really get emotional. My dress budget was 12k and i went with one that was $1,300 so i shocked myself too hahahha. But as soon as i put it on, i started crying, so i knew it was the one

With my dress my fiancé gave me his credit card and said have fun my only rule was I had to love the dress and don’t just get a dress because it was affordable. The local dress store was having a huge sale and so I went and tried on a couple of dresses

I saved for years and bought my dress without looking at the price tag. It was around $3000 plus $700 alterations. I did google and price comparison with another bridal stores for the exact same dress just to make sure it wasn’t overpriced. I haven’t regret paying that much until today and I still in love with it.

There are also prom dresses that looks like wedding dresses that cost $200 and up. I don’t see why not.

It depends on what your budget is for your wedding dress. You will need to figure that out first before shopping. I had set a budget for my dress and I went a little over it but I found a dress that I loved. You can also look for sales. Bridal shops and boutiques are alway/most of the time have sales on wedding dresses.
