Prevent linen wedding dress from wrinkles

Hannah, on February 8, 2021 at 1:46 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4

Hello,

my SO and I will propably do a paddling tour for an elopement, so it might be easier having a dress, that isn't wrinkling, but I totally love the charm of linen clothes and am absolutely fallen for a linen dress. Are there possibilities to carry it in a paddling boat whithout wrinkling? For the fact, that we both love sleeping outside in the nature, just under a tarp, there will propably be no possibility for ironing without making it complicated. Any ideas are welcome (and if those ideas have not too much extra weight even better)

You could bring a cordless, handheld steamer with you.

Yeah, nice idea. But as far as I've read now in the internet, most cordless steamers heat up on their station and the station needs a cable. Do you have sources for steamers which don't need that?

Another idea that I had would be smoothing the dress with a hair iron, I found out, that there are a lot of them that run by rechargable battery and lot of them can be charged with usb - I could bring some power banks (we have a lot power banks anyway because we do a lot of hiking trips, paddling tours, ect. in our free time) to make sure the running time is enough and I could also use it afterwards to make my hair a bit (anything with multi use is good for longer outdoor trips). Do you think that would work just as I imagine it?

Is it possible to have it pressed with extra starch? With linen if you bend it or fold it in anyway it’s going to get a crease that’s just the nature of the fabric but starch may help offset some of that

I think you’re going to need a source of power for a lot of things. I would try to figure that out.
