So we found out a week ago we are pregnant. I'm very early, like 5 weeks. Our wedding is set for March 17, 2018! Now we are not sure if we want to push back the date.. I am not sure if I wanna have a big pregnant belly on my wedding day. We are having a hard time deciding since we have a lot of...

So we found out a week ago we are pregnant. I'm very early, like 5 weeks. Our wedding is set for March 17, 2018! Now we are not sure if we want to push back the date.. I am not sure if I wanna have a big pregnant belly on my wedding day. We are having a hard time deciding since we have a lot of family coming from NY, Nevada, Hawaii.. Any suggestions?

Thank you all

Honestly all women are different, but I didn't start showing until is was 7 months pregnant, and even then I could hide it in an A line dress. Maybe just go for it, and wear a beautiful ball gown?

If it were me, I would keep the wedding date. If I push it back, I don't think I would want to plan a wedding and raise a baby at the same time. And also at that point in time, I don't think that a wedding would be my main priority- raising my child would be, so I know for me, I would just forget the whole wedding.

This happened to my friend earlier this year. The wedding date was set for August and she found out beginning of February she was pregnant and would be 7 months on the wedding date. They opted to move the wedding up to April. She had to make a lot of changes - the biggest one was she wasn't able to invite a lot of the people she wanted to, but she had a supportive family that helped her out and the venue was all-inclusive and worked to accommodate so it wasn't a lot of pressure on that end for her. It kind of depends on what your needs/wants/plans are. For me, we're doing so much of the wedding DIY that moving it up 4 months wouldn't have been an option - there would've been no time to do everything that needed done.

I personally would vote to keep the wedding date before postponing it, but you could maybe consider moving it up.

    OP - congratulations , that's great news!!

I always told my FH that if I ever get pregnant while planning the wedding, I am pushing back the date. I want to enjoy my big day to the fullest, meaning I want to eat anything I want and drink alcohol and DANCE MY ASS OFF.

It really depends what you want. Are you going to like looking back at pregnant wedding pictures or would you rather have a celebration with your baby in tow? People will be excited either way.

I don't think you need to look at eloping. Pregnant women get married all the time. Year down the line you can look back and tell your child that they were there on your special day. I vote to keep your date!!!

It depends on how you'll carry. I didn't start to show until I was about to pop out my son, about 30 weeks. I wouldn't have wanted to plan and do a wedding within the first year that my son was born, FH and I were absolute zombies, and we had a year of Mat/Pat leave between us.

Curious as to what you did! If you had it, we’re you uncomfortable / able to enjoy? If you postponed, any issues with vendors and friends and family rescheduling travel at all?
