For my experience, i do really recommended this step. My Pre-cana was 8hrs the same day.

I learned a lot from testimonies from other people how to maintain Marriage for life also what are the differences types of situations we can deals when we are married, how to handle it.

People getting Married at the catholic church will enjoyed this journey because also we had the opportunity to express our feelings to our future husband asking questions and also the best beautiful part is the end.

we had the opportunity to says “Why we want to get married ”

very excited moment, also they provided books i would say tools to used to readed and used for our life’s.

    I'm glad you enjoyed it.

DH and I did the weekend one, it went terribly, and even though we passed, his priest denied us.

It seems increasingly obvious to me that the quality of the precana heavily depends on the individual leaders. I'm glad yours were helpful.

Our parish offers a couple options: either the traditional weekend-style pre-cana, or spending about 5 evenings with a couple from our parish, working through a marriage preparation series (they call it "Evenings for the Engaged"). We chose the latter (mostly because it was free, vs. paying $200+). I really enjoyed it. Our host couple was so warm and welcoming, and they were great at getting us started, and letting us work through everything at our own pace. It was a great mix of videos, exercises, and prayers, with a lot of great speakers, but what I enjoyed most was just spending time with FH and being "away" from all our other responsibilities. We've been together over 5 years and have been having many of the conversations around money, family, lifestyle, children, etc. for a very long time, but it was great to remind ourselves that we're on the same page on most things.

One of my favorite parts was on the last night, when we were each given a piece of paper to write a love letter to each other, to open on our wedding day. Smiley smile

My FH and I did this in August, it was a phenomenal experience. I feel like we definitely grew closer and really got a chance to visualize just what we wanted for our future. Ours was 4 days, with the first two days being 3 hrs or so and Saturday and Sunday being 8 hrs or so.

I was baptized Catholic but my parents became protestant (I consider myself just Christian) before I learned anything about Catholicism, my FH is Catholic and when we decided to get married at a Catholic church this was part of the process.

We learned even more about each other, and I learned so much that I never knew about Catholicism, and have been researching non-stop and reading so much. I feel open to the possibility of one day becoming confirmed potentially one day. It's a nerve racking prospect but the more I learn the more right and fitting it seems. So Pre-Cana definitely gets two thumbs up from me. Glad you enjoyed your experience as well!
