Practicing Father/daughter Dance?

Rebeca, on April 14, 2018 at 4:09 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 3
Hello everyone, did you practice your father/daughter dance before the wedding? I have a song picked out that my dad would always play when I was younger. But I get so emotional and become a crying mess when I listen to it. I feel if I practice dancing to the song with my dad, I'll just cry like a baby the entire time. Haha. It's a slow song "Morning Has Broken" by Cat Stevens, should I still practice dancing to the song? Thanks everyone!

I wish we had practiced, but for a very different reason than you. I don’t think I had ever danced with my dad before our father-daughter dance, and we don’t have a close relationship. So it was awkward as sh**. If you feel like you should, then practice!

I just spent some time today practicing with my father. We have never danced together before and our little session was super fun. We are doing an upbeat song though.

    Hi Rebeca!

We did not practice, we just kept everything simple and swayed around and talked, and it felt very easy and comfortable, even though now that I think of it I don't think he and I have ever danced together before, not since I was a toddler at least. Maybe if you practice ahead of time you'll have an easier time managing the emotions on your wedding day? You know, get some of the tears out of the way early? Smiley smile
