Practicality? Hoop Skirt/ petticoat for princess dress w/train

A.Magill.Since.May, on April 13, 2017 at 11:51 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4

Has anyone worn a tulle petticoat/ hoop skirt under their princess/ ballgown? I read that you have to really practice how to sit and it sounds uncomfortable, but I love the look! Also I've seen some that add support to the train so it fans out and it's stunning, but what do you do when you bustle the gown?? ETA: spelling

I would imagine a tulle petticoat/crinoline would be more comfortable and maneuverable than a hoop skirt. I'd also guess that when you bustle the dress, if the slip supports the train it would have to be bustled as well, but your alterations person should be able to take care of that for you. Have you tried on any of these petticoats to get a sense of which is best for you? Have any pics?

No, I was looking it up and my dress has satin skirt, so I guess it would need a hoop bc satin is heavy??

I need to just get my dress and go try some on. I have tons of time, but I figured I'd ask.

Can you share a picture of your dress? My dress was a big ballgown with what felt like a million layers of tulle - I ended up cutting layers out mid-reception!

If you're just looking to add volume I think a tulle petticoat would work really well!
