Practical Bridesmaid Gifts

Private User, on February 28, 2016 at 2:56 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 20

Looking for bridesmaid gift ideas that you have found are affordable but also a hit. I'm willing to spend up to $40-$50 per bridesmaid if that means the gift will be something they love! I already got them each a different tea cup set from various antique shows that I visited because my bridal shower was a tea party theme, but I want to get them a cute gift to go with it that they will want to use! Help!

What about loose leaf tea and a tea infuser?

What would you normally gift them for christmas, their birthday, just because? A gift shouldn't be wedding themed. It should be themed for them.

it's what I'm doing for my gals. They are stunning and I chose each one based on the title of it for how I feel about my girls.

Following. I like monogrammed, personalized stuff for gifts but have no idea what the actual "STUFF" should be.

@Aurelia I'm not looking for a theme, just curious as to something else to get them (by saying I got them tea cup sets I just didn't want to get them another type of mug or tumbler)

I got my girls 31 bags with their names on them. They can use them for the wedding day to carry whatever they need to the venue and they can also use them after the wedding because there is nothing wedding related on the bag.

One of my friends gave me a fully stocked toiletry kit, and I *love* it. Before that I had a kit, but I just filled it every time I traveled, and pulled it apart again when I got home, so I was always worried I'd forget something. Now I know it has everything, I can just grab it and go.

I got personalized embroidered handkerchiefs by Inspired Stitches on Etsy. I put a short message on my sister's and a monogram on the others. I also got them for my parents and fiancé. They look fantastic, and I can't wait to gift them!

I got mine Alex and Ani bracelets that were 30% off so under about $20 each. I'm also planning on getting them clutches from Etsy for $15 each... But still deciding on that.

    Edited because autocorrect hates me.

Mine are each getting Urban Decay Naked 2 or Naked 3 eyeshadow palettes. The rest will be more indvidualized to their likes. MOH is probably getting Kate Spade travel bags. One bridesmaid will get an amethyst wine stopper and wine scented candle from Etsy. The other will get a book scented candle that she's been wanting and one small gift.

I've waited until Coach Outlet clearance sales have happened and purchased wristlets in different neutral colors (black, light gold, etc.). By getting them on clearance I was able to get them for $33 each, but you can only buy 3 at a time during those sales. Hence me waiting/watching and buying them at different times. I'll add a few smaller items on the day like chapstick, advil, chocolate too.

I would say anything. But if you're going "practical" leave off the "bridesmaid" wording.

A good friend gave me a pre-stocked travel kit as a wedding present and I love it! Instead of having to grab my toothpaste, floss, shampoo, etc. every time I travel, I grab the bag and i know I'm good to go! I can't imagine it would cost more than $40, tops, if you fill it yourself (as opposed to buying one pre-filled). Other gifts I have loved-- one friend gave me a framed picture of us at her wedding-- although she divorced that guy years ago, I still love the picture-- and my baby brother gave all his attendants glasses unique to them-- wine glasses, brandy glasses, martini glasses, a juice tumbler for me cause I don't drink... with the grooms' names and the wedding date written on them. I loved it, but it broke in my suitcase on the way home.... so think twice for your OOT guests.

I put together a kit for them that they can use again. It has blister packs for their feet, Advil, needle and thread, lotion, extra lip gloss, and flip flops. I included some nail and personal care items as well. Just went to the dollar store to get most of it.

Get them an experience instead of more 'stuff' to clutter up their suitcases and shelves or get purged to Goodwill in their next move.

I'm getting mine gift certificates for pedis or yoga classes.

I bought them monogrammed make up bags ($10 each) from Etsy I believe the shop was Turtle Cove. She was awesome! Then I bought them floral bathrobes from Etsy as well that were about $18 each. I also went to Bath & Body Works when they had the 3 for 3 sale and I had a gift card so I got lotion that smelled like delicious flowers and matched the colors. Some might say that those aren't practical but I gave them the makeup bags early and they all use them and I think the bathrobes and lotion will for sure be used. I also want to throw in the emergency kit of the sample advil and bandaids etc..
