Pots, Pans, Free Trips and JVL Jewelry

Private User, on June 3, 2014 at 1:48 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

Hi everyone! We have well over a year to go (6.27.15) but I like to plan! Went to a bridal show over the weekend and got called last night that we won a "free" trip. We would need to come see them for about an hour to fill out paperwork and pick our trip to any of Viva Wyndham Resort locations. (Mexico, Bahamas and DR) -or- we could get a $600 JVL jewelry gift card.

Smelling a scam , I have been searching through this forum and the all knowing Google and have a few questions if you would please take a moment...assuming up front I am saying no to the $4k pot and pan set Smiley smile

1. Does anyone have a current JVL free rings code?

2. Has anyone taken any of these trips and what hidden costs/experiences did you have?

Thank you,

Crystal

I got my husbands wedding band with a free jvl code I got at a bridal show. We won a trip too. We havent taken it though. We would have to pay taxes and provide our own transportation to get their. We had to sit through their presentation, we didnt buy anything. At all.

My FH and I got the same call. We went because it was no obligation (I specifically asked... no purchase required or pressure to buy anything). Anyway, it's a 45 minute presentation on the pots and pans (we got lucky and since only 1 other person showed up, the skipped the presentation) then we got to choose between the trip or the rings (again, we got lucky and since only 1 other person showed up, we got both).

The vacation was something like a free hotel from the given options, airfare not included. I believe it is good for 2 years.

The rings option was nice. you get up to $1000 in ring coupons, and we were able to get our bands completely for free. I will say that the ring selection was limited for under $1000, but can't complain... even if we choose not to use the ring I got (we're still undecided because it looks awkward with my engagement ring), we got the rings.

The rings also arrived with another coupon, which I passed on to my friend who was also engaged, and she was able to get her rings for free too.

We also got a coupon book with over $10,000 in savings on things like airfare, movies, shoppings, dining out, etc.

So... long story short, it's not a scam, and as long as you're willing to give up an afternoon, it can be worth it.

Got free bands. It doesn't go with my e-ring and wedding band but I wear it around the house because it's more comfortable and durable.
