Postponing questions

__, on June 8, 2020 at 11:57 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 2
Our wedding is set to take place on 11/25/2020, but of course we may have to postpone. We are getting married on our date either way, but a question for those who have postponed the big wedding, but got married on their original date, or those who plan to do the same:
Will you be hiring your vendors for both dates? I’ve pretty much hired hair, makeup, DJ, photographer. If need be, I’ll postpone the DJ and photographer, (we have a family friend who wants to take photos) but I’m not sure if I should do my own hair and makeup or if I’d want them for both dates. Just wanting to know what everyone else is doing or has done. Thanks! 😊

We're doing this. Here's how it's going for us, in a little bit more detail than you asked for:

    Venue (including catering)
2021-We signed the same contract for next year, all deposits were applied to the new date.2020-We're having our small wedding in my parents' yard with catering and an ice cream truck.DJ:2021-We signed the same contract for next year, the deposit was applied to the new date, there will be a $250 rescheduling fee.
2020-two relatives will record instrumental ceremony music for us. After that, spotify?Florist:2021-we're signing the same contract for next year, she's letting us apply some of the original deposit to this year's order, the rest will be applied to the new date.2020-we're getting smaller/toned down versions of what we had originally planned/will get next yearPhotographer:2021-we signed the same contract for next year, the deposit was applied to the new date.2020-we were hoping to have her come for a few hours but she's nervous about covid, so I'll probably ask a friend who recently started doing photography to do it. If she's not available/comfortable, my dad has a nice camera so maybe we can take turns with it?Hair and makeup:2021-we didn't really have a contract, just a plan, but we'll do the whole thing (hair and make up for me, my mom, my fiancés mom, and my bridesmaid) next year2020-I was just going to have my hair blown out and get a gloss treatment and do my own makeup, but my mom and I are both definitely getting our hair done and we'll get make up done too if it's allowed in our state at that point.Feel free to let me know if you have questions!
