Postponing again?

Amy, on December 7, 2020 at 5:13 PM Posted in Planning 0 34
Hi everyone! Our original date was June 20, 2020. We rescheduled for May 15, 2021, but are now strongly considering postponing again until June 18, 2022. We just don’t think we will be able to have the wedding we want this May as masks will still be recommended and possible restrictions on the number of guests. Anyone else considering this? We did get married already this year; we just want to have a big all out celebration.

No, didn't consider postponing more than once. Slashed guest list and we are carrying on with an outdoor tiny wedding.

Ugh, I’m so sorry. This pandemic STINKS!! We rescheduled ours from November 2020 to November 2021. At this point we are still hopeful we will be able to have the wedding of our dreams. I totally understand why you would be concerned about your new date though; especially if you are planning a large guest list. I would remain optimistic, but it would probably be a good idea to have a backup plan in place just in case (whether that mean a reduced guest list or a soft hold on a new date). I think all of us covid brides are holding our breaths and crossing our fingers for a resolution to this pandemic.

You still have some time to make a final decision, but if you want your dream wedding/celebration with 0 restrictions where guests feel 100% comfortable, that probably won't happen until 2022.

We had a small wedding in October and are considering 2022 the earliest possible date for a "part 2" reception with our full guest list.

    Fingers crossed for you, though!

I would wait until closer to your wedding date to make that decision. With vaccines starting soon, May 2021 might look very different than our current situation.

Aww, do you not want to wait a few more months before deciding? Our big wedding is scheduled for March 21 (we got married on our original anniversary date in october) but we are still going forward with March as of right now. If we were to postpone it, we wouldn't make that decision until the end of January

May is still going to have serious restrictions, sadly. If you’re not all about the guest reduction and safety precautions, I would postpone again... also depends on what state you’re in... it is so hard to make that decision.

Yup! We're set to get married in 100 days and the idea of postponing again popped up last night! We paid for this awesome celebration and we want to have a awesome celebration!!! 🤷🏾‍♀️ I think waiting until 2022 is a great idea because I feel like it won't change much in 21. Can hope for the best but the numbers don't lie so yeah!

😩😩😩 we're March as well but I'm nervous to wait until January, we have some out of towners and some have brought tickets twice already 😬 most were able to exchange the ticket but taking time from work and all that. I guess I can look at it as January being only being 3 weeks away 😂 I'm just tired of making decisions 🤷🏾‍♀️

Yes we have a few guests travelling from out of state as well, but airlines are allowing refunds and credits for flights so I'm not really worried about that because if we had to postpone they would get their money back, as they did when we had to cancel our Atlantic City bachelor/bachelorette weekend smh. But yes, January is literally 3 weeks away lol. But I get your frustration. its so annoying because no one knows what will happen. Are you planning on having a big guest count?

Yeah I'm glad people can get their money back just worried about them keep taking off and all that mess. We have 120 but they playing in Maryland with the gathering count. I can't really pinpoint the correct count, I see some articles that say 75% capacity, then 50% and just last night I read 25 people max so no too sure.

Wait you're in Maryland? So am I lol I think that right now it is at 25% capacity for venues. Our venue is in Baltimore County and as of right now we are allowed to have 80 guests. Our venue holds a little over 300 people.

We are in Baltimore city. And even though we have a larger venue with some outdoor space, we just don’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable at our wedding.

I get it, I do however think that things will be much better though. Our big wedding is in Baltimore County and right now we are planning to go forward. our venue told us that with current restrictions in place, we would be allowed 80guests and we are fine to limit to that number. Masks would required except when eating and drinking, but honestly for our reception I feel like most people will have a drink in their hand most of the time so that doesn't bother me. BUT Baltimore City is always on different restrictions than the rest of the state.

Yup good ol Baltimore 🤦🏾‍♀️ Where are you getting married? Our venue is in the city, the Accelerator Space off York Rd. and also holds about 300. So I guess we have to make some cuts now 😬

Ohhh I just looked it up and it looks REALLY pretty! We are getting married at the Hilton in White Marsh! Maybe by March the numbers will change but who knows. The city is always on different (more harsh) restrictions it seems. Jack Young don't be playing with the city lol
