Postponement depression

Ugh I was just 30 days out from my April wedding when this all started to go south fast. We went ahead and communicated we’d postpone (picked a new date in July that worked and all our vendors agreed). But with the day to day changes and health officials saying they’d like these shelter in place rules in place for months, I’m just feeling slightly depressed about even rescheduling. I won’t be able to emotionally stand getting everything ready in June and having another spike in cases and postponing again. If we push it out farther we’d be right In hurricane season so that’s a no-go and I don’t want to delay until winter.

At this point I know there’s nothing we can do and we just have to wait and see. I’m secretly hoping that my state gets a shelter in place over my dates so I can officially cancel and just get our money back. FH is fine with that too. But at the same time I spent all this $$ on the decor. It’s an impossible place to be. Just venting.

It's okay. My wedding is a few days as your. I literally cried when the venue cancelled on me. But it is a big hit when you find out you can't have the wedding you want. We are still getting married on that day. We just want to be together. But cry and be mad. Don't let it linger cause it will mess with your mental state. But sending you virtual hugs. Its hard to accept sometimes.

I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through. We have a community hub of all our COVID-19 information, including cancellation guides, monthly planning posts, and advice on how to get additional support. I hope this helps during this difficult time.
