Postponement Announcement & Invitations

M Hsu, on July 27, 2020 at 9:21 AM Posted in Planning 0 5
We just postponed our wedding from 10/30/2020 to 10/30/2021. We are in CA where things are getting worse and there are so many restrictions. We did have a backup date for 4/23/2021, but we felt spring is still not safe.

The invitations were already sent out in early July when things looked like it was getting better. We will sent out a postponement announcement cards to our guests and update our wedding website about it. However, do I send out a new invitation with rsvp card next summer to my guests again?

I think you send the postponement or "Change the date" announcement cards and then send new invitations next year on the schedule as planned for his year. I'm so sorry for your postponement.

We’re postponing too and already sent invitations. We are sending “Change-the-Date” cards and new invitations when it’s closer to our new date.

Yes, I think most people who are Postponing are sending out new invitations. We just ordered our “save the date again”s for our reschedule from November 2020 to November 2021. We are going to send those out right away, then send out new invitations next year closer to our date. Make sure you check with whoever you got your invitations through- many companies are offering free reprints to people who have had to postpone due to the pandemic!

Thank you everyone for the info!

I did a live chat with Minted and was able to get a 50% off promo code for the postponement announcement card. For the invitation, they can do the reprints of my previous order with the new changes and the replacement fee is 25% of the order amount. And they will also cover the standard shipping. Not so bad at all.
