I'm sorry, I can only imagine how disappointing that is for you and your FS. Good for you for protecting your friends and family! I hope that your summer wedding is lovely!

Thank you, we hope it still is great but me and him hate the heat so we are alittle worried. In July WNY is so unpredictable it can be resonable between 65-85 but it can be horrible too 85+

Try to stay positive! We had to move ours from 3/21/20 to 8/1/20. It's so difficult and disappointing but we're trying to think positive thoughts Smiley smile It'll all work out for the better. I hope you have the most perfect beautiful day!!

In trumps speech yesterday morning he said that social distancing is recommended for the next couple months and things will not start getting better till July/August if EVERYONE follows the recommendations of social distancing as a nation. It’s gonna get worse before it’s gets Better. I would recommend not picking a date just yet, just in case this pandemic lasts longer than expected.

Do you see how many brides don’t think this applies to them? As long as that mindset exists, things will take much longer to get better. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I am sorry to hear that. I'm scheduled to get married in May and I am very worried to. I know the only thing that matters is that you get married but as humans, we want to have our big day and that's ok. Everyone is entitled to feel anyway that they want to. You plan and plan for this day and then something clearly unexpected happens. So when people tell me that as a Bride, I don't think the ban or whatever applies to me, in my head it doesn't because we want everything to go as planned. If we have to push our day back, we plan to still get married (at the Justice of the Peace) and then still have our big day at a later time. Good luck and everything will turn out fine.

That's just his opinion. No one really knows. Atleast she picked a date a few months out. It's difficult for some brides to even reschedule. Let's just be more uplifting!

Hi Courtney! Trump is working with scientific professionals, literally the most experienced scientists in the nation. It is not trumps “opinion” it is coming from scientists who are trying to find a cure and are saying that it looking for things to get better in July/August if everyone in the nation listens to social distancing recommendations. I recommend post-poning till next year because no ones knows how long this pandemic will last, scientists have said it themselves. everyone is being inconvenienced and making changes to helping corona not spread any further and that does not exclude brides and their weddings

I understand, but next year is a long time to reschedule for everyone and I think each bride is doing what works best for them. I know we personally aren't going to wait to get married, and our wedding is this July. Whoever shows up , shows up. We are just praying for the best (:

Courtney I understand so much, I had to postpone my wedding that was supposed to be in may, and I didn’t want to wait so long either to be married to my fiancé so we’re getting married in the court in April. We’re just trying to be flexible during this time. I understand that “whoever Wants to come will come” but It is a huge risk and you will be going against the U.S recommendations of gatherings less than 10 people, and going against the world health organization. I know it’s a special day but everyone is adapting and we need to make the best decisions as a nation, as a whole, to stop the spread of further disease.

I am postponing our April 5 wedding for July 12 - fingers crossed it's enough time for things to settle down.

China's first case was in December and they are now shutting down their temporary hospitals as people recover and new cases dwindle. That's 3 months. I tacked on an extra month based on the Chinese trajectory. Hopefully the situation here (and I live in the NY/NJ area) will not become as dire as it is in Italy - provided we all follow recommendations for extreme social distancing.

In NJ, we now have a suggested 8pm curfew, all non-essential stores are closed (everything but grocery and pharmacy basically), restaurants are open, but only for takeout/delivery, all schools are closed/switching to distance based education formats, etc.
