postcard stamps

Samantha, on April 1, 2019 at 11:51 AM Posted in Planning 1 12

Hi everyone!! We're looking into invites for our October wedding and I think we'll end up getting a suite where the RSVP cards are postcards. I am struggling with this because the only postcard stamps USPS sells are seashells or coral reefs Smiley sad I know sites like Minted offer custom stamps but I can't bring myself to pay $1.25 for a stamp that really only costs $0.35.

Please tell me that I will be the ONLY person who notices/cares about the stamp style on RSVP cards! Will it look awful to have a seashell stamp for my fall Ohio wedding?? Or should I really spend the extra buck per stamp to have something more wedding-y?

We used the shell postcard stamps. It’s such a little thing that nobody will even notice. I couldn’t imagine spending that much extra either!

We used the shells also. Nobody notices except you. Not worth the extra money in my opinion

I don't think it makes that big of a difference. You could always pay just a little extra and pick from the forever stamps. That way you have a much bigger variety but you're only paying an extra $0.20 instead of an extra $1.00+...

I didn’t like the shell stamps either! I got the forever stamp that says “love” on them with a cute floral design from the post office for 50 cents (I bought a ton before they went up to 55 cents in January) and put those on my rsvp post cards. They’re more expensive than a post card stamp but WAY cheaper than the minted ones

I hadn't thought of just using normal stamps!! It may be worth the extra few dollars I'd spend to have stamps I like instead of seashells lol

This is a good alternative option if it's really bothering you.

But I agree with everyone else, like all the other wedding paper products, this is something that will eventually go into the trash. I don't think anyone would think twice about a seashell stamp for your fall wedding. It's just a means to an end really Smiley smile need to send card, need a stamp, this is a stamp, this will work lol

I sent save-the-date postcards and my rsvp cards were also postcards. I used the seashell stamps. I didn't care for them but I didn't want to spend so much on custom stamps.

I used the seashell stamps for our RSVP postcards. It doesn't really matter that much since it gets sent back to you anyway.

So glad I'm not the only one struggling with this! We're making our save the dates postcards to save money. Then I check and see that the only postcard stamps are coastal themed! Not even a plain flag one?? Crazy! But I think I'm just going to use them anyway. At least it's seasonal for the time of year we're sending them out, right?!

My RSVPs were postcard style but I just used the regular Forever stamps (Love) for them, and they have been coming back fine thus far. Check with the post office.
