Postcard size postage - Zazzle

FutureMrsSchneider, on February 6, 2017 at 2:44 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

Hello! We are getting ready to send out our save the dates, which are postcards. I'm told postcards can use a smaller and cheaper size stamp. The postcard size stamps through USPS are not very pretty, but I found some nicer ones on Zazzle. Has anyone ever bought their postage from Zazzle? Was it legit/easy/good quailty? Do you recommend? Or does anyone have any other ideas? Thank you! ETA: clarity

Yes, Zazzle postage is legit. I have created custom postage through them many times. If you are sending postcards to save money - remember, you won't save as much postage by purchasing custom stamps. If you sign up for their newsletter, they will send you sales and coupon codes.

We just used the regular USPS postcard stamps for our STDs (they were tropical birds, I believe). It fit with the theme of our beach wedding fine, but really no one is going to care what stamp you use. I'd recommend saving money and just get the standard stamp.

I'm glad to hear that! I found a design that is just a simple pink heart that I liked. And they are doing a coupon right now for 15% off. I'm just wondering if it's worth it to get those, or just buy the bird ones from USPS lol

We had postcards Save the Dates as well. I wouldn't worry about the stamps, no one looks at them and custom stamps will eat the savings you get for sending a postcard.

Make sure you calculate the per stamp price if you're worried at all about cost. USPS also has ugly 2 oz stamps so I thought about buying the custom stamps that matched my invitations. I figured out that each $0.72 stamp cost almost $1.50 when I included the stamps, adhesive paper cost, and shipping from Minted. We ended up putting 2 of the new blue "love" forever stamps on our envelopes. It totals $0.97 in postage which is more than necessary, but it was still cheaper than custom stamps! You might be better off just putting a regular stamp that you like on your postcard

Thank you all! I think I'm just going to get whatever the USPS has. I'll spend the extra money on other things I'm sure! Thanks for reminding me not every little detail is so important..or noticeable!
