Dedicated April 2022

Post-elopement Invitation Wording

R C, on January 12, 2022 at 4:19 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

Hey guys, this similar question has been asked before by others but I just want to make sure. My fiance and I are planning to elope mid-march and then have a normal wedding the first weekend of April (Because I like intimate celebrations and he likes big ones lol)

Anyway I'm finalizing my design for my invitations and wanted to make sure that "You are invited to a Celebration of Marriage" would be the proper wording. Like, we're still having the big ceremony and everything. Just a couple weeks after we're legally married. Would "Celebration of Marriage" make it clear that we are already married? Would including "Luncheon Reception to Follow" make it clear that there will still be a ceremony?

Thank you for your input. Smiley smile

I think that wording sounds great! I think the "Luncheon Reception To Follow" makes it clear that you'll be doing a ceremony.

Since my wedding was unconventional I actually wrote: “ceremony, bbq and party” on my invitation so it was abundantly clear- I have no regrets about doing that!

You could also make a website and be sure to include the details about how u were already legally married. But some people don’t visit the website 🤷🏻‍♀️
