My fiancé and I got engaged a little over 2 years ago, and when we first got engaged we didn't really have the money for a huge ring, so my FH got what he could. A year later he decided to upgrade my ring as an anniversary gift. It's a pretty ring, but it came with 2 wedding bands and I don't want to wear 3 rings, but the bands are tiny so you can hardly see if I only wear one. We were looking for bigger wedding bands, and I found a bridal set in rose & white gold that was absolutely gorgeous, and I'm really into the rose gold look. My FH said he will take me to go try it on and we can trade my set in if we like it, but he thinks people may have something to say. I'm not trying to be ungrateful, bc I like my ring now, I just really like this new set. I personally don't think it matters what anyone thinks about me getting a different ring. I think if we're both happy, then it's our business what we do. Is it wrong to change my ring again? Or is he just being paranoid?

I've been married for 33 years. In that time, my engagement ring has been upgraded three times (I have them all). Several years ago, I decided to put the engagement rings and the original wedding ring away. In their place, my husband purchased a ring I loved -- a thick gold band encircled withtwo rows of diamonds. I wear that everyday. People know I'm married, and if they say anything, it's generally, "Wow, beautiful wedding band". Do what you want. Your engagement and wedding rings are the two most personal pieces of jewelry you will ever own. It is completely your decision.

I don't think anyone would notice, but if you were advertising it or being showy about it I would judge. I get FH wanting to upgrade if he didn't propose with the ring he wanted to, but then to buy a new set and then upgrade to a whole other set seems excessive and a waste of money to me. I was raised really poor though, so I have different opinions on material things than most. If you want to do it, go for it, but don't flaunt it.

I can't lie I'd probably judge cuz of the time span. Realistically there's always gonna be something prettier out there cuz thing change are you gonna want a new ring every year? Some times you have to stop looking at grass on the other side. If you want the rose-white gold look you can easily get a wedding ring that has both or enhancers . My ring is not special to me cuz of how it looks or how much it cost but because that what my love got on his knee and presented to me as a promise. My best friend mom got a realy small ring way back when and now that her husband is doing better he adds a diamond every year, I think it's cute.

But aside from my sentimental streak I get what you and the other ladies are saying. It's really between you and your FH.
