Popular Dance Songs

Asian~Wife, on September 15, 2010 at 2:35 PM Posted in Planning 0 13

I'm finalizing my DJ list... FS and I don't mind those cheesy songs that everyone "hates" - we want people to get out and dance! If it takes the "Electric Slide" to do so, then so it is! What are the names of the other "regular" ones?

Electric Slide

YMCA

Cupid Shuffle

Cha Cha Slide (Is that the same as the Cupid Shuffle??)

Ps - No "chicken dance" or "hokey pokey" please - those two do get on my nerves badly!

    Brick House (Commodores)

Don't Stop Til You Get Enough (Michael Jackson)

Like a G6 (Far East Movemennt - I personally HATE this one)

Get Down Tonight (KC and the Sunshine Band)

    Sexyback (Justin Timberlake)

    Yeah (Usher ft Lil John)

    Low (Flo-Rida ft Pitbull)

Baby Got Back (Sir Mix A Lot)

    I Like It (Enrique Iglesias)

    California Gurls (Katy Perry)

That should make for a fun set.

Lots of Gaga, Katy Perry, Timberlake, MJ, Meatloaf's Paradise by the dashboard lights, Mony Mony, If your having little ones attending, the chicken dance really is fun for htem to try and dance too! And it's totally adorable watching them try to dance! P!NK is another good one, B.E.P, London Bridge by Fergie, lots of oldies is always good! (I HATE the macerena, yet, I was forced to dance to it at our wedding....)

I think you have to play party songs if you want people to dance, even people who don't like popular music will recognize the song and shake it! haha... but for the LOVE of God, do not do the entire Cha Cha slide!!!! The song is like 15 years long! I think you start to loose people, same thing with the Cupid shuffle (but not as horrible) just get people out onto the dance floor for a bit and then change it!
