Polling for Honeymoon: Antigua? St. Lucia? Turks and Caicos?

Nikol676, on March 16, 2016 at 11:42 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 15

So FH and I know we want to go somewhere "warm with pretty blue water" for our official honeymoon. We won't be going until probably February/March after our October wedding. The three listed places all interest me and I just thought I would get everyone's opinions on their experiences in Antigua, St. Lucia, and Turks and Caicos, or if you have another place you think is better please share!! Thanks!

I lived in Antigua! It's gorgeous. 366 beaches! Lots of goats! :-)

I learned to dive at Turks & Caicos - it was a great place to relax but not a whole lot going on off resort/culturally.

I agree with Mrs T. We went to T&C a couple years ago and if you don't dive (I don't) it can be downright boring. No excursions, no culture, no landmarks. The beach was gorgeous but since my FH fries like an egg we ended up shopping and napping some days. Kind of a lame trip Smiley sad

Thanks ladies! T&C was my top choice but that may be bumped down now that I know that. We want a super relaxed time but options for fun excursions if we find ourselves wanting to do touristy things.

If you're interested in those places, check out Grenada. We were originally looking at St. Lucia too. The resort we are staying at there (the Sandals) is brand new, has phenomenal food, and has rooms with private pools which is what we wanted. We fell in love with the excursion opportunities: rum distillery, waterfalls, hikes, local spice markets (it's the spice island), chocolate production estate. There's amazing diving there too, included at the resort.

Anguilla is my suggestion! Tranquility wrapped in blue. Great restaurants, friendly locals, St Maarten is like right there for the touristy stuff but there was enough to see and do on the island including really good live music

We booked our honeymoon at the Sandals Grande in St. Lucia - it's beautiful there! You should check it out

Turks and Caicos is beautiful and very relaxed! I've never been to the others though.

We were between Turks and Caicos and st Lucia as well. We also wanted a really chill honeymoon where we just laid out and ate and drank pina coldas. We ended up deciding on Turks and Caicos simply because FH thought the resort we were looking at in Turks and Caicos was nicer (we are staying at Blue Haven). If you just want to chill I feel like either is a great option! One thing to consider is the flights. From Atlanta to St Lucia was going to be $800 per person round trip. From Atlanta to Turks and Caicos was only $300 per person round trip.

We went to Antigua and absolutely loved it.

A lot of friends have been to St. Lucia and said the same thing.

I'm sure Turks and Caicos is beautiful but I believe they don't have any adult only all inclusives there? But maybe I'm wrong.
