Poll: Walk in song opinions

Kristen, on October 3, 2020 at 6:54 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 17

I recently found this song and I love the message and the melody. Thoughts?

If you mean walk in for the ceremony processional, NO. The processional should be more rhythmic to walk to, and more upbeat. This would be nice to have sung while you are at the altar, when you have finished walking, and everyone is in place. It would be easy to find someone to do a cover of it, acoustic, and people could clearly hear the words when everyone has stopped moving, and people are quietly turned forward.

Valid points. I guess I should explain that for the minimony the walking out would just be my FH, my MOH and me. Not a full wedding one. I do not think I have every heard processionals be upbeat? They were always slow songs. I can definitely say I would not hire someone to play an acoustic version of it. In fact my FH would not even let me pay for a videographer because due to his social anxiety he does not want more people at the wedding ha ha.

Hi! I like it! I say pick whatever makes you happy. My FH has picked a slower rendition of a song he loves for his entrance and the rest of the processional, and I picked an instrumental version of a favorite song for my entrance. To be honest, both are untraditional—extremely so, but I hope to enjoy the day the way my fiancé and myself both want it, so I’m sticking to it Smiley smile

I actually like it, I’d probably cut it and just choose the part you like.

You have to find something that says something to you.
We’re going with “The Prayer” for our processional, but only using the first 2 minutes of it.

Oh thank you. I just want a song with a beautiful melody and lovely meaning and this song I heard on a Korean show of all places and I thought it sounds lovely to walk into (just him, my MOH and I) and I love the lyrics.

On the recession I chose a song he really likes which is the Hawaiian version of Somewhere over the rainbow. I think it is great you picked a slow rendition of a song he loves. I am trying to throw in elements for my FH down to getting a NE Patriots garter ha ha. I agree you two should enjoy the day how you want.Smiley smile

I may start from the beginning and then have my officiant cut it once I am up there. Surprisingly a short song so between him walking in and my MOH then me it may last or cut short like you said. Thanks so much.

Ive actually never heard this song, but I think it’s lovely and definitely fits for a processional (I’m used to hearing slower songs as well). I’m also trying to figure out my processional song for my wedding next week (cutting it close!), and am trying to avoid typical songs people use. As our DJ reemphasized to us, it’s your wedding, so use what you like!

Girl not lying I heard this while watching a Korean variety show ha ha ha. Never heard it before either but the two artists I do not really listen to. Ya know I had to go to my officiant because I was in the same boat as you. She suggested these three:

This is why I love you - Major

    White dress - Shane Filan

You and I - John Legend

I told her This is why I love you which is beautiful but I am thinking to switch it to this song. I love the beat and the meaning is beautiful.

With just a few of you, you could use just a music player. I was thinking church or big gathering, which would need louder than a player, to not have distorted sound as you turn up the volume.

Oh that is what I assumed you were thinking ha ha. Any time I have seen anything like that have been at catholic mass or Greek weddings. I have always thought slow melodies for the bride walking in. Yeah my officiant will provide a speaker (I may see how big hers is to see if I need one) but she will play for us. Thanks so much.

Haha you never know where you’ll find inspiration! Thank you for passing along suggestions from your officiant, too. I’d go for this one you found if you really like it.

    Very nice song

The beauty of all this is that you can pick whatever you like and whatever speaks to both your hearts.

My processional choice is my dedication to my FS and the recessional is his dedication to me and both songs are songs that we both love and have enjoyed together.

I Promise (Wedding Song) by Ce Ce Winans is another beautiful song. Give it a listen and see what you think.

Hee hee funny part is I have mentioned we are walking into music but I am sure he forgot. I chose this song and he knows nothing about it but I feel the meaning is beautiful. The recession is a song I did in honor of him because I know he likes the song. I am glad your songs reflect perfectly you two. Smiley smile

The processional will be Canon in D (piano/violin version), I'll be walking into the Bridal Chorus by Wagner. Then recessional will be Forever by Chris Brown.
