Polish wedding tradition!

I want to know if any of you lovely ladies have had the bread, salt, and wine tradition for a Polish wedding. I’m Polish and my FH isn’t, but he totally would like to do some traditional things for the wedding. Have any of you guys done this tradition? If so, when during the reception and where do you do it?? I heard you do it before you get introduced into the reception but that just seems odd and don’t know how that would work!

I'm not Polish, Martyna, but I can help bump your thread!! If you want to do it at the start of your reception you could always do it as part of the speeches maybe?

My sister did this tradition at her wedding. This is done at the beginning of the reception. The bride's mother (they had both mothers participate) is traditionally the one who has the salt and bread. The bride and groom eat a piece of bread. And then the mothers invite everyone into the reception or for cocktail hour.

Another tradition I always enjoyed was the champagne glass. When the bride and groom enter the reception, they are given two glasses of champagne to drink. And then when they both finish the glass, they throw the glass in hopes that it will break. It's good luck. Smiley smile This would be done during cocktail hour and then the other guests are served cocktails.
