Polaroid Sign In Book

Kora, on September 5, 2019 at 3:29 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 2 11
Okay, per Pinterest my wedding ideas are through the roof! haha Buuut even though those pictures are so aesthetically pleasing how often do they really work out??.

SO my question is has anyone used the Polaroid as a sign in book? Did it work out? I know some people it might be too dark or come out too washed out.. has anyone tried this idea? Thank you in advance!!

My best friend did it and I have some advice from both her and I.

First, make sure that the camera isn't too complicated (I had to help people for like 20 minutes) and have plenty of paper.

She said she wished she'd gotten a book with A LOT more pages in it. People will take up a whole page just for themselves (you'll get 2 guests per side tops) putting a pic in and writing a message.

All in all its awesome imo

I saw this at a wedding and the camera was confusing to work (and I think ran out of paper or something) by the 10th group so people didn't use the picture aspect very much.

I saw this at a wedding last weekend. A lot of the pictures ended up left on the reception tables at the end of the night. Not sure if they intended on that many people taking pictures for themselves outside of a guestbook or not.

Hey Kora! They can work great, you just have to be prepared for it!

Having an easy-to-use camera is key! Some of your older guests may need some assistance if they are not used to taking selfies. Would it be possible to perhaps have someone who will go over to the photo station every now and then to ensure that everything is working correctly and that there is enough paper in the camera?

If you do not want people to take up an entire page with just one photo, maybe you could divide each page in two so that you know you will definitely get at least 2 photos per page.

I used a polaroid sign book and it came out amazing. Mostly because my bridesmaid were on top of it. My MOHs gave me a beautiful personalized book for it so I wanted to really use it. I had small wedding so 45 guest means filling up just a few spots per couple or family so they show 2 or 3 photos of each couple or family usually a regular one and the other more funny and paste it in a page and gave to them to sign. Photos were great even those at early night even when is darker. I wouldn’t do anything pass early night unless is inside and there’s lighting.

We did it and EVERYONE used it. It was so fun and we got so many awesome keepsake pics. Some the quality wasn’t DLSR but easy to see.

I went to a wedding last year, and it was really cute. One thing I would advise you on is to have multiple cameras. It kind of took a while for everyone to "sign" it because they had to wait on their picture to develop and most everyone wrote a paragraph in the book. People were waiting for a while to sign, some up to 10 minutes. I might also have a couple of people to help "work" the guestbook to help guests figure things out and speed things along. Super cute though!

We went to our Friday wedding in May and they had this idea! My FH and I absolutely loved it so we are actually gonna use it for our wedding too! We think it’s a great idea and from all the pictures I saw from our friends book, the pictures looked good to me!

We just went to a wedding that did this and they left out extra cartridge packets and it seemed to go fine. I will say that the two things I noticed were 1.) a girl got ahold of the camera and started going around acting as their photographer and they seemed to be annoyed with her directing them around and also wasting their picture paper and 2.) some guests were taking photos and then pocketing them as though the pictures were their favors ... so those were the downsides.

We're considering doing this! We'll either use a member of the bridal party, one of my finance's siblings, or a venue staff member to work the table to ensure the pictures are taken well (no issues of selfies being of the ceiling instead of the guests), the pictures and messages are fitting well into the book, and we aren't wasting a ton of film paper.

My cousin had his at her wedding and everyone had so much fun with it!! I’m not doing it at my wedding because I loved it so much. They put out little envelopes too so that guests could also take pictures home if they wanted to. It was perfect!
