Polaroid Guest Book

Anna, on April 6, 2020 at 11:46 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
Hey ladies! I’m planning on a having a Polaroid guest book where it will strictly be for guest book purposes prior to the ceremony. (I have someone take guest photos as they arrive) Once cocktail hour begins the Polaroids will be available for a DIY photo booth and guests will be able to photos home. I am currently trying to decide how many film pack to buy. Any suggestions?

In that case I’d say you’ll probably need the ability to take about 100-200 photos. Most people will take the original guest book photos in pairs or maybe small groups so that’ll save you some... but if you’re opening it up for people to take their own and encouraging it to take them home, I imagine some people may take a lot of photos... I may reevaluate if you want to do it as a “take home your own photo” photo booth kinda thing. Seems like it could get super pricey 😬

I agree with pp that you may need a ton of polaroids at that point since if it’s for a photo booth feature, ya never know how many people will take and do

We went to a photographers wedding that did this - with an old fashion camera that prints once you've taken it, correct? They had about 150 people and they had an usher take pictures of each guest/ family unit as they came in. It kept people from running off with the camera and you knew you got a picture that they stuck in the book with a personal congratulation message. I can't say I know how much film but I would double the number of guests that RSVP - remember that groups will only count as 2 so that should cover your bases! Good luck and adorable idea!!!

I majored in photography. Unless you are not planning to keep your pictures for decades, it’s fine. Polaroid pictures changes color and fades away with time. Too bad, but at least it is fun to have the immediate result.

However, there are PhotoBooths you can rent with someone to print the images on spot with a small printer, and the hard copy last as regular photographs.
