Polaroid Camera Guestbook

kaybeearr, on July 1, 2017 at 1:36 AM Posted in Planning 0 22

My fiancé and I like the idea of a Polaroid camera guest book he thinks it will work well. We have three Polaroid cameras so would only buy the film. I'm kinda hesitant because what if people just start taking pictures like crazy or if they keep it. Someone suggested I put someone in charge of it during the wedding. But I feel bad asking someone. Has anyone done this at their wedding and how did it work? M

I'd ask someone to do it. I know if my friend group was at that wedding and it was do it yourself you'd get some stupid looking picture or they would use it on themselves and keep it.

A lot of people have guest book attendants so just ask them if they wouldn't mind doing it like this and explain the concept

We did it. We had 88 guests and 2 cameras and a ton of film ( like 15 rolls). We had a ton of film left over and the book is awesome. I also bought so fun props from Etsy. People were at the table all night. We had no attendant.

If this was my friends, the pictures would be horrible and crass. They would all be of a few people. There would be some people not pictured at all. There may even be no pictures because people took them home. Absolutely have an attendant.

One of my brothers did this at their wedding, and they put my other brother in charge. He didn't mind and it worked out fine.

My friend did it. She had over 200 guests and I don't think she had an issue. She only had it at the reception and had 2 cameras there.

We did it! We just had one camera and about 120 film for about 90 guests. We didn't have anyone in charge of it just left the camera by the seating chart with the guestbook and a basket of extra film, pretty tape, pens and a printout I made of directions! It worked out really well and we had about 30-40 pieces of film leftover since most people took group photos. I actually wish more people took photos home lol bc I don't know when I'll ever use all that film !

My friends did this at their wedding last month. They had 2 attendants when people walked in to take people's photos. Then after the ceremony was over there weren't attendants anymore. People sporadically went back and took maybe 1 other photo to take a souvenir with them. Unless you have teenagers or young children at your wedding that will have access to them, I don't think adults will have a problem with overusing these.

I wanted to do this so badly, but had the same fear as you in that people would only take pics for themselves or just go crazy taking pics.. and the film isn't cheap. I ended up scratching this idea sadly.

We're planning to do this, and I'm asking by cousin to man the camera prior to the ceremony and during cocktail hour for a little while. I've read posts about problems with leaving the camera unmanned such as the film jamming because people don't know how to load it right...

I would feel uncomfortable asking anyone to oversee it.

I've been to alot of wedding with these and I've noticed 1) kids will waste the hell out of your film 2) people kept their pictures instead of putting them in the book

My cousin did this at her wedding, and it went smoothly without anyone policing it. That's really a know your crowd thing though.

I'm doing one. I asked someone to be in charge. She'll take the picture & make sure everyone signs it. She was happy to do it.
