Plus Size Shapewear

FutureMrs.McElveny, on March 21, 2016 at 12:49 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

Ok! So recently i have been looking into getting some shapewear for my wedding instead of wearing the long-line and petticoat. The reason being is that after the ceremony, i'll be changing into a shorter reception dress and I just thought it would be easier to forgo those things.

So the question is: What is your best recommendation for plus size shapewear? -and- Would you use shapewear instead of the long line and petticoat or just change out of those as well?

I would use the shapewear, the less changing you do the better off.

Lane Bryant and Spanx. There is a website called HipsandCurves for plus size lingerie and shapewear too. I've never bought anything from them, but they have lots of stuff.

I would NOT recommend anything from Roamans or Woman Within.

With plus size shapewear, price matters. The more expensive stuff is really expensive-but you don't have to readjust it every few minutes or get sweaty and gross. Good luck!

Former retail Store Manager here. My old company specialized in Big And Tall (men's version of plus size). People use to try to return Woman Within and their men's line called King Size Direct items. I can completely confirm the quality is total s***.

Now there are times you want cheap clothes for things like cleaning, the gym, gardening, maybe camping. And Woman Within fits the bill perfectly for this. But not on your wedding day, not to shape yourself in your beautiful dress!

I found the most wonderful shapewear at a lingerie shop. It's called Hooked-Up Shapewear and is like Spanx, but hooks under your bra to eliminate muffin top. I bought the mid thigh shaper and a strapless bra. I noticed on the website that they come in plus sizes, too.

I'm using a legit steel boned corset for that waspish waist look. I got it online from Orchard Corset, and adore it. It wasn't expensive either!!
