Plus size gown -

Devin, on April 23, 2019 at 6:33 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12
Hello! I’ve been dreaming of the Hayley Paige Remmington gown since before I even got engaged! I tried it on in the store in a regular sample size and even though it didn’t fit I loved it! But it was to expensive for me to order so I have been searching and searching for it online at a discount price and found it online in a size 18 for half price- the dress is a plus size sample dress that’s not been altered! The dress sizes that I have been trying on are size 20 and they fit a little big in the stores. I’m also on the keto diet and have lost 40 pounds so far and hope to lose more! My question is - I can’t try on this dress and it’s no returns. I took my measurements and seem to be about two inches off of the sample gown. Would it be a mistake to order it hoping to loose those 2 inches? My wedding isn’t until October 2020 - posting again I put it in the planning section not wedding attire and don’t know how to switch it haha

I know it's a bad idea generally to plan on losing weight to fit smaller dresses in case it doesnt happen...but I think it could be taken out an inch or two (with a good seamstress)

I know rule of thumb is to never order a dress in hopes of fitting into it, but you do have quite some time and it sounds as though you're losing f some already! I think it may give you motivation!

Is it a dress that a corset could be put into? That can give you a little extra room.

Sample sizes in the store are usually a bit stretched out, so take that into consideration as well.

But with a year and a half to go, and your dedication and progress so far in loosing weight I'd say go for it. Just know that you're gonna have to stick to that diet, even through the holidays coming! I've lost over 100 lbs in a year and a half to two years time. So I know it's doable. But you have to be dedicated.

I say go for it! Just from reading your post I can tell that this is THE dress for you! Having your dream dress, will give you the extra motivation you need, to lose those 2 inches! And honestly, 2 inches isn’t that unrealistic, totally doable!

GuCiDesigns on Etsy can make a replica dress. They're really good. And yes it's spelled like that lol And very reasonable maybe 300-400

I bought a dress that I loved which was a size or two too small in the hips. I was able to get panels added to the sides. If you love the dress and no other dress will do, I would get the dress. I would just budget for alterations, just in case.

I say do it. I was in a very similar situation. I bought my dress from someone (unaltered) but it was 2 sizes smaller than the one I tried on in the store that fit like a glove. I could barely zip it. Lost about 35 lbs and now its perfect. Im still having the zipper changed to a corset for extra comfort & it adds so extra elegance to the dress

Hayley Paige dresses run very small! For example, my dress is a Hayley Paige dress, I am a street size 4 and had to order a size 12. It is a tad too large through my hips and shoulders. So I will need in taken in some. So my advice is to just be mindful of her sizing.

It's a year and a half away. If you keep this weight loss regime, you are going to need a smaller size by your wedding date. I would wait until you are at your desired size and then look for a used sample in that size. Who knows? You may find another dress you love more by then.

It’s not an “actual” Hayley Paige dress but andibridal.com has a lot of dress that look like hers. PLUS it’s a plus size store. And you can get it to try on.
