Plus Size Dress Shopping Anxiety

So I am going to two different places to try dresses on tomorrow (Saturday), so today I went to get some shapewear. I'm plus-sized and knew I would feel more confident with something to smoothe out my lumps. I have terrible shopping anxiety and never like anything. I basically had a mini breakdown...

So I am going to two different places to try dresses on tomorrow (Saturday), so today I went to get some shapewear. I'm plus-sized and knew I would feel more confident with something to smoothe out my lumps. I have terrible shopping anxiety and never like anything. I basically had a mini breakdown to my mom because I couldn't find shapewear I felt good in, and also, dressing room mirrors are HORRIBLE.

In the end, I found something that will work for trying dresses on, but now I'm really nervous I won't find anything I like or feel beautiful in when attempting to find a wedding dress. Yes, I know, I just have body/confidence issues, but I'm just really anxious about it.

Has anyone felt this way before?

    I also had a lot of anxiety about it, but realistically sample dresses don't fit many people. I researched stores that carried a variety in plus size dresses. To my surprise I looked amazing in all of the dresses I tried on, even the smaller ones from the mannequins! I ended up having an amazing experience and found my dress that day. hope that you feel special on your shopping day.

    I'm plus size too and yes, sometimes it was uncomfortable, but most shops have bigger sizes to try on! I promise everything will be okay and you will probably be the only one who notices any 'flaws'. Good luck Smiley smile

    I so dreaded trying on wedding dresses because of my body. I scheduled a bridal appointment with a popular boutique in my city, and talked to her about whether there would be dresses to try in my size. They provided a corset (which was awesome!) and I had a great time trying dresses on in front of my MOH, mom, aunt, and cousin. I'm not going to lie and say I felt awesome about my body, but I did find a dress I liked a lot and I felt pretty. A good consultant is important too.
