Plus size crepe dress scare

Evette, on April 28, 2020 at 3:51 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

Help! I'm concerned that I purchased the wrong gown for my wedding. It is a Justin Alexander crepe wedding dress that is most definitely not forgiving. I have no clue what to wear under it to suck, smooth and support me for 12 hours. I am a size 16 with low tummy bulge. I would love to have the support of a corset or a longline bra but I have no clue what type to purchase because it has to be seamless.

Thanks everyone!

I don’t have any advice but just wanted to say you look gorgeous in that dress and it reminded me immediately of Meghan Markle’s!

The new shape wear from Kim K (skims?) has some great reviews, and from what I see online, the material is thin, not including those “lines” that most waist trainers have that are totally noticeable in certain clothes. Good luck and congrats, your dress is stunning! ❤️

Your dress is gorgeous! Did the bridal salon not have any advice on shape wear? I have heard Spanx are great! But I would ask your bridal salon what they recommend.

I'm going to be honest with you, with that back and off shoulder sleeves there are no shapewear solutions I know of that you won't see either straps or some of the back. Any shapewear solution that will flatten tummies will have to be tight around ribcage, meaning it will be that high in the back as well. To guarantee it doesn't roll, body suits with straps that let you wear your own bra are the best choice for a smooth look, but they just won't work with this dress, which is beautiful!

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate all of the replies! The bridal salon did not give me any advice on undergarments. I'm running blind Smiley sad
