Plus size bridesmaid advice

We have a small wedding party with only 2 girls on my side so I'm going to buy thiet dresses for them. I want them to feel comfortable in whatever dress we decide on but they haven't been much help narrowing down the choices. I'm going with azazie as they have a large selection of knee and tea length dresses in the light blue color I wanted so I made a showroom and added a bunch of dresses for them to look through. Most of the comments they left were just versions of " I'll wear whatever you want" and we only eliminated a small number of choices. I asked if they woyld prefer to wear something not a dress like a suit or something but they both want to wear dresses. After talking to them a bit separatly it seems like thier biggest concern is what the dresses would look like a plus size girl as they both are. Some of the azazie reviews have pictures of the dresses on real people and those are helpful but some of the options we are looking at don't have any customer photos. There are too many dresses for me to have them try them all at home. Have any plus size girls worn an azazie dress and how were they on you? What are your favorites? One is about an 16 and one is about a 22. Thank you!

Can you ask them if there are dresses you’ve picked which are similar in style/cut to dresses they already own? That way you can narrow it down a lot more and then try a few on to make the final decision. “I’ll wear whatever you want” is nice but it sounds like you want them to feel comfortable in the dresses so finding something along the lines of dresses they already have might help.

EDIT: I’d also eliminate anything strapless - anyone with any boobs at all is probably not going to be so comfortable in a strapless dress unless it has loads of structure like a wedding dress, which is much less likely in a bridesmaid dress.

I'm a size 14/16 and I am a bridesmaid in an upcoming wedding. We were just given the instructions to find a sky blue knee length dress from anywhere, so I went with Azazie. I ended up ordering the Grace after doing the try on for 3 dresses. KiwiDerbyBride makes a great point about looking at styles/cuts of dresses they already own. That is how I narrowed down which 3 dresses I wanted to try on because I find that dresses in that style tend to flatter my figure. Have them individually pick their top 5 or top 6 of the ones you showed them and then see if any of those are the same for both of them.

What about going to David’s bridal or another bridal shop and having them try on dresses to see which styles work best and then from there narrow it down to a few dresses they can do at home try on from azazie?

Daughter's BM dresses came from Azazie. Her 5 BMs ranged from a size 6 to a size 18. They wore "Keyla" and 4 of the 5 did custom measurements (including the BM that was closest to a size 18). Daughter liked the dress because it's an easy dress to wear a regular bra with (as a pp mentioned that helps women with lots of different body types...) and it's fitted waistline was flattering on everyone. Keyla is a floor-length dress, but I'm pretty sure there is a short version with the same bodice. Good luck!

I’m sure they have dresses that they currently own in styles they feel comfortable wearing? Maybe you can ask and find a similar style dress for each bridesmaid

Honestly the best way to avoid this is to pick a color and let them pick the dress. I did that for mine and I liked it cause I didnt feel like they all hated me for picking a dress they despised and would never wear again. It’s becoming less common to force all the bridesmaids to wear the same exact dress

I told them at the start they could look through all the sky blue selections on the site and add any they liked to the showroom, it didn't help, they still told me they would wear whatever I picked. 😛
